I liked the 3rd one for putting so much effort into the movie theme. It was the only deck of the 3 where the theme was obvious outside the context of this video, even if you were just browsing it on EDHREC without being told it had a theme.
"So mr childhood moviestar, what deck do you like to play?" "A theme deck centered around me and my world!" Felt either the prompt or the nominations was a bit off this month...
I think that is the first thing that people gravitate towards when they hear the prompt is to put them in the game like looking at the submitted decks the vast majority weren't much different from the finalists in that way for the most part there were some ones that messed with the theme a bit like a wall-e deck with only 1 forest that had a bunch of terraforming which was pretty cool imo but like even that isn't really thinking about what wall-e would play necessarily since that's just his job imo its probably just a tough prompt
Can you use please use the visual View as "Grid", Group by "Type" and Sort by "Mana Value" card view from Adekt, when you go through the decks? It's much easier to follow when we can see the cards, we don't have time to see them on the left when you pass your mouse on them by stack.
Would you guys consider posting a video at the start of each new contest as well? I always seem to miss them.
Seconding this.
Thirding
Same! I missed by 1 day
Fifthing

I knew I was forgetting to do something this month. I guess I won't be sharing my Starscream deck lol
My old LGS had a tournament with a similar theme. I won with the Bible board wipe tribal. I played Gerard Weatherlight Hero.
The music in Oliver and Company is great, such a gem of a movie
Absolutely delighted that y'all got a laugh out of the list! Thank you so much! Y'all are my favorite deputies! 🖤
Nooooooo i forgot to submit my John Carpenter’s The Thing deck!!!
I kept brewing on a Schmendrik deck, but never finished it.
id love a HTTYD commander with saddle

I felt the same. None of these submissions really felt like a deck the character would build, instead they felt like movie-themed decks.
Dang, I was so sure my "Cat's Don't Dance" themed deck would have gotten some love. Well, next time.
I wish I remembered all the movies I watched. I'm in the same boat as Olivia there. I played way more video games haha

When I saw this episode I wish I had time to make a submission for my all-time-favorite cult classic: Fight Club. And what would Tyler Durden build?
Damaging yourself would be a good theme, fight spells would be real on the nose. Duplicant would be a staple card lol
The land before time was my favorite when I was little
Is the link broken?
The meta call of making the Robin Hood deck very cheap is a nice touch. These are good finalists!
