Man , as a dirt poor kid in the mid 70's in the south KFC was waaaay out of reach for us, when people talked about rich folks as a 9 year old I thought they meant anyone who could once a week afford to take thier family to KFC was rich folks. Polk salad, beans, rice, boiled cabbage and once a week on Sundays after bailing hay bologna sandwiches.
In poor urban areas, there is Church's chicken. When I was in the military and I traveled a lot, I noticed almost always Church's chicken in the worst neighborhoods.
