What I have decided on is to forgo a NAV receiver. GPS navigation is enough for me. RNAV approach minimums are enough for me - but that's me.

I like the one-stop shop idea a lot. I can definitely see where you are coming from concerning NAV. I think that GPS only may become the norm in the coming years. I am finishing a build using AFS. Their customer service was top notch. Installation was a breeze, the wiring harnesses are works of art. I highly recommend them.
