The hieroglyphs could also be something the egyptians "discovered", as so many other things, and gradually started using. Wouldn't surprise me

@@fusion9619 No. Otherwise, some of them would not be missing on the side pillar as a result of the blast. Whatever the cause of the damage to the hieroglyphics, they came BEFORE it, indicating the pre-dynastics used hieroglyphics that the dynastic Egyptians simply inherited.
@@stephenphillips4984 or it was a different disaster. The predynastics were antediluvian ; the hieroglyph writers were post diluvian. The bible records several disasters inflicted on the post diluvian Egyptians, although I don't recall if any of them included melting or blasting. But that did definitely happen to some other places.. so maybe.

The colosi of memnom isn't one stone. It's many stones shaped and covered in some thing. I have been there and had a good look. It doesn't even seem to be located in its original position. Everything about these two statues is wrong.
