I actually drink it a decent amount and it's severely underrated!! There's a brand here that does an Earl grey blend and it's just fun lol
My fave drinks are lemon water and orange earl grey kombucha 💕🤠🔥 fishing Okutama sounds like a blast 😁
Regarding moving back to London, I honestly feel like you'd end up shocked moving back here right now now. London really does make Tokyo look dirt cheap and the quality of almost everything is so much better there!
Honestly I'd say you'd need to be pulling in like at least £3000 a month to live decently somewhere

the idea that people would have to "prove" they "deserve" to move to a country🤨 they're all just landmasses, they don't have any magical properties. as long as you're not like commiting heinous crimes and moving to get away from the law ... you deserve to live anywhere lol

My tea tastes change depending on the season so right now I’m into spiced teas with milk, Like pumpkin spice, chai, and roobios too! 🥰

I think this is really specific to Tokyo itself, maybe Osaka, but other bigger cities is quite different not to mention about countryside. Of course is Mikan experience and she live in Tokyo area. Expectations about how live in Japan is, it is quite different from the Tokyo area itself. I live in Fukuoka and I lived in countryside, I find the experience quite different

Congrats on your 5 years 🥰 you look super cosy! As an Italian who's been living in London for 10+ years, I find it hard to talk about what is "affordable" :") For example, I found both Tokyo (visited on vacation) and Seoul (lived her for about 2 months) very affordable for being capitals, but I know that for someone from my hometown it might be hard to understand why. Like you said, it really depends a lot on our personal situation :) Always lovely to hear you chatting about life! x

My treat drink is a really thick hot chocolate. We have a local Austrian chocolate factory (Zotter) which makes Bars of chocolate that you can melt in hot milk… it’s so delicious and the perfect Cosy evening drink 🤩

I'm British and visited Tokyo a few weeks ago! It's definitely a lot cheaper than here especially at the moment. I was so shocked to see petrol for like 99p around Roppongi cause outside of London its around £1.80 at the moment. Also there's no way you can go out and get lunch for less than around £25 a person where I'm from so I was so shocked to be eating in Ginza etc for less than a tenner... I live in one of the worst UK cities and my rent is almost the same as some places in Shibuya-ku so I'm definitely considering moving to Japan (especially cause my company does transfers there) It was so jarring how much better the standard of living is in Japan vs the UK

As an honest opinion Mikan: I believe that you are doing very well, your language skills are very good and you can get a job, you have the drive to create your own brand and not be afraid to tell us about the journey to make it happen (ups and downs.) I cannot be a judge of you, only of myself. However I do reckon people should just butt-out with their judgements of you. We only see a narrow part of your life, and that doesn't give anyone of Us the right to judge you. You are you, and those of us who watch and like, really do appreciate you. So, keep on doing what you do best/ better and don't let the wowsers try to sway you otherwise with their flippant judgements and throw-away lines.

I find Tokyo so cheap or nothing special compared to Norway. Most things are way cheaper or just as expensive as here.
But I know many people find Japan expensive. But when you are from one of the most expensive countries like me, any country is cheap. England is cheap for me 🤷

I've only visited Tokyo for vacations but I found it super cheap too! Especially compared to Norway 😅 I remember being shocked by the prices of food, alcohol etc. so It's at least great for visiting ~ My partner and I have considered living there for a year or two for work related reasons, so maybe in the future we'll get to experience how it's actually like to live there!
As a Mexican person Japan it’s so expensive for me! Specially public transport! So again as mikan says it depends where you are coming from! And the bureaucracy thing it's so true. Sometimes you feel like the country doesn't want you to live here 😢 loved the video I missed these q&a’s!

12:05 I totally understand what you felt! For me, living in such a homogeneous country like Japan that is basically an ethnostate woule be a no no! I will finish my studies in 10 years and I plan on moving out of Switzerland asap because of the depressing weather and the conservative "karen-like" mentality. I came as a refugee from Iraq and getting the citizenship was so hard. I was never seen as a swiss person no matter what I did or said because I don't look germanic. I plan on living in the Emirats or Oman where the people will see me more as "one of them". I really love my arab culture and I luckily already speak arabic I just need to learn to write and read. I'm very nervouse because I'm a creature of habit. Seeing you moving to such a different country at a young age is so inspiring and gives me the courage to move out too later in my life. ❤
For me it will soon be 8 years in Tokyo and time definitely flies!! 😵 good luck for everything ❤
