I saw Marvin perform this at Radio City Music Hall in the 80’s. He performed it in white satin pajamas. I remembered riding a bus and little boy no more than 5 years was singing this He knew every word. It was hilarious hearing the words come from a child’s voice.
Remember back in the eighties sitting in a quiet bar! This song played and all of sudden this Jamaican dude got up and started dancing to it! His flow and motion matched this song perfectly!
Didn’t know anything about a bar yet but here I was, an 11 hear old white farm girl dancing around singing this song. It was my favorite and hilarious to think about!!
Seems he was at the very start of Motown, his life taken way too soon. Smooth and Cool ... such great talent. Wow thanks for the deeper dive right there.
I was in the army when this song came out, living in the Barricks. Everyone was playing it, you could hear it walking down the hallways, it was such a big hit!
THE ISLEY BROTHERS - " VOYAGE TO ATLANTIS " 🎸 70s Soul R&B and also this 80s super Soul Jam " Between The Sheets " Bass line is insane and the Keyboard 🎹 Section Phenomenal + Vocals Guitars so Cool
The radio played the heck outta this song. I don’t remember any real controversy over the material. 70’s and 80’s were more of an anything goes kind time in some ways,
For an even bigger babies-making song, go to "Let's Get It On". For great vocals and emotional expressions, please check "When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You" and "Distant Lover (Live version)". It would be interesting to listen to Marvin Gaye's original version of "Don't Do It" and compare with The Band's cover, which opens their concert movie "The Last Waltz". Also the classic duets with Tammi Terrell: "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing", and "You're All I Need to Get By."
Check out Marvin live sometime....very charismatic. Charlie Puth paid homage to Marvin in a song called....wait for it....Marvin Gaye!! Give it a listen 💚🎵🎶
You should react to the official music video for his sense of humor. React to George Michael's I Want Your Sex and Madonna's Justify My Love for more sexual themed songs please.
Imagine an 11 year old white girl dancing around to this song and singing “Sexual Healing”. That was me. I’ve always been a Motown fan.? I remember once seeing The Drifters live and they were so crazy good!!

Damn, white satin pajamas!
Marvin Gaye may have prepped everyone for this song with his earlier hit song "Let's Get It On"😊 It's a great song too.
Let’s get it on has got to be one of the most sexual songs ever, it’s so damn good!
@@kathybwell I totally agree! I always loved that one!😊

What would the world be without all the great music from MOTOWN? I always greatly appreciate the amazing commentary.
I love all Motown all the time. Have since I was a child.
Marvin Gaye had such a nice voice and his music was always enjoyable to listen to.

Timeless!!!!
For decades, Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross were the kings of baby making music. Get It On, is his biggest hit.
I'd add Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass to that list.
So smooooth. This song has many good memories 😊
Marvin Gaye, one of the best albums ever, is "What's Going On". Shawn listen to some of the cuts off that album(maybe you already have?)
Pretty sure he did what’s going on. But Inner city blues would be a great hit to React to.
@@kathybwell /that's part of the same album, that's why it's so great.....hit after hit
Man this is why i miss the 60s through the early 90s it's so much better than anything today

One of my favorite 70’s party song was Marvin’s “Got To Give It Up.” There was dance popular at the time call the “Errol Flnn”
I would love to see you do more Marvin Gaye please please

I was a sophomore in April 1984 when His father fatally shot him. He was just 44 years old.
He left behind a great legacy.
I Heard It Through The Grapevine (studio version)
💜💜💜 I also like the version done by Max-A-Million. It has a reggae feel and it is great.
This is a groovy tune. 👍
❤❤❤❤
It was played late at night on a black radio channel

His father shot him in the face and killed him
I love Marvin Gaye but this was never a favorite of mine. It's all about Him! lol.
