Thank you for such an informative and entertaining review. Your point on the quality (or lack of!) of Etihad's wine selection is a really good one and, as you mention, something that almost all other reviewers have not mentioned (I suspect due to their lack of subject matter expertise). I agree that Etihad don't necessarily need to offer the very best but most of their current selections aren't in keeping with the quality of the rest of their first class offer. Perhaps their niche could be finding high quality but lesser known producers than the likes of Krug, Louis Latour etc.
Another point missed by most / all reviewers is there is no longer a spa in the first class lounge in Abu Dhabi, despite what the sign says. I think most people would prefer a free 15 mins treatment over having the opportunity to get sweaty on a treadmill!
You don't mention them but my favourite first class offering is Air France's, who manage to blend the hard onboard product, elegant but attentive service and their fantastic lounge. into a fantastic overall product. It's a shame their A380s won't return.

Talking about "first-class problems",
I'm happy that you appreciated my words about catering at Etihad. I don't think free wifi, fresh orange juice or the existence of air vents really matter here (you get all that anywhere in everyday's life) when there would be so much to talk about excellent wines. That's what nobody talks about.
I agree that it would be so nice if an airline like Etihad took the effort to find a rather unknown Chateau in the champagne region that produces excellent champagne. But of course availability is a real problem at the moment there...
Regarding lounge: Everything will be new with the opening of the new terminal in Abu Dhabi. I think they already moved everything over there, as the terminal was supposed to open quite a while ago already. That's also why I decided against a dedicated lounge report like I did with the lines in Dubai or Doha.
Air France: I didn't include it as I only wanted to talk about things I don't just know about but that I really experienced. And while I do have some menus of La Première, I haven't experienced it, and therefore didn't want to include it here (still I'm the only one who tried some fair comparison between some top first-class airlines). I don't know if I'll ever fly Air France La Première. I'm sure I could do a really comprehensive report about them, but I need to afford it, too. So I would first need many more people like you who find my channel, like what they get and then subscribe, so I get to a position to just buy a ticket there, too..... (my final step, if I ever become really big, would be to always surprise-invite somebody from the audience to join me on the flight - that would be amazing).

The majority of my flights are J but I’ve done first a few times. Personally it’s SQ F for the overall package. Something about their flight attendants feel a notch polished compared to the rest. They carry themselves gracefully and are able to hold professional and meaningful conversations. I suppose the Singaporeans come across as an educated and mature bunch. ANA-F takes the cake if I’m looking for pure service and best food. Emirates F is a hit or miss but never a bad flight. Just my two cents. More of a practical person :)

It was inbred an incredible amount of work, forest for the creative part of it, as I don't just put take after take but wanna tell a story and give my audience a great time watching while not just showing myself with a glass of whatever. Then the crazy amount of hours of editing. But in the end I'm happy when I see the result of a real little movie, while I actually earn my money as an opera singer. So I live in two very different worlds, clerical music and in much less serious RUclips.

Great video Chris; love the workout ! Lucky enough to have tried the Emirates 777 First, and the wine selction is just out if this world. Qatar Q Site is fantasitc, Emirates Business is goood fun, especially with the bar on a ultralong flight. Now need to try Etihad. So lucky to have tried some of these. Please keep them coming.

Here in Warragul it has taken Josh 10 years for his channel to reach 6.4 mill subs. And will have a chat with my son over dinner on Wed and show him your channel. And oh I just realised Anuga was on last week in Cologne and that actually would have made an interesting add on to your content. Ha ha the thumbnail would of course been obvious as my attendance always resulted in very wild parties. Cheers John

Christian great video. ❤ I have PTSD with that bed in 4a 13hours Abu Dhabi to Sydney.😢 anyway 😂. Like you, I purchased AA miles on promo cheap cheap . Muscat to Abu Dhabi j class then Abu Dhabi to Sydney first apartment 4a then QF j class on a 320 to MEL. The service and food horrid in first however chef was delicious 😂. Btw the black and white geometric shirt you had on at check in what brand is it❤. Pleasant flying 🎉

Yes, at this moment they only fly that route
I think Singapore Airlines is better than Etihad, yes they don't have showers on board, but i'm yet to really believe a passenger who actually NEEDS (essential) to take a shower on a flight. Most people going to the airport to take a flight will have had a shower.... if not then there are much better shower rooms at the 1st class & business class lounges. It's just a gimmick. Also bathroom is alot bigger on Singapore
The true double bed on Singapore Airlines is better than half a double bed on Etihad.
You get 2 T.V screens with Singapore Airlines and the bed T.V looks bigger than Etihads
The Singapore Airlines seat is more comfortable and can swivel 360
Alot more space in the Singapore suite
Also book the cook from over 100 choices with Singapore
Singapore lounge in Changi is much better than Etihad is Abu Dhabi

Hi Charles! It's great to have a long feedback from you. I had different experiences with SQ. Maybe you've seen my SQ First Class Suites report where, while the staff was top notch, I was really underwhelmed by the catering. Rather poor food, unfortunately (Frankfurt to New York). Altogether I had pretty mixed experiences with SQ in the past 2 years. But if course the suites are amazing.
However, I don't understand when you write that a shower is an unnecessary gimmick that no one REALLY NEEDS. Isn't everything in first class about just that? Things that nobody really needs? Who needs a 300USD champagne or 2 TVs in one cabin? Isn't that a gimmick too. Isn't first class travel all just about a long row of gimmicks? I think it is...... And a shower on a plane is simply the crown jewel in the crown of unnecessary gimmicks, don't you think so too...? 😉

What a spectacular flight experience, the A380 undoubtedly is a welcome sight back in our skies, after a long and forced absence. I knew years ago there's no way despite the loss of the 747 that the 380's would also disappear. Despite the few niggles, this has to be one of the most elegant ways to travel, very jealous to see all your First Class experiences. I haven't flown First much in my life so don't feel I can decide which would airline would get my vote as the best. The space you had to exercise proves the level of comfort you will pay for, but really useful to know that not all suites are the same. Looking forward to hopefully trying Etihad one day. Thanks so much for sharing such a masterpiece!👏👏👏

This first class is definitely one of the features ways to travel in the air - except for the tiny things (that start to matter at a certain price tag and once an airline claims itself to be among the very very best). When it comes to being jealous, just bear in mind: other people have cars or a boat or a huge family - I have this hobby instead... And I show in the video how everybody can actually enjoy this specific trip at a fraction of the price 😊
