Less angry black women (as Meg's shoe would stereotype this week) when lonely pregnancy is a supported experience. No more lifetime of hearing "You know how hard it was when I had to carry you for 9 months alone" shouted.
Imagine a black mom actually saying, "Omg, I had a lovely pregnancy." Then the kids are more liked. Then they're less of an uncivil risk.

Black and native women are injured and or die at higher rates in pregnancy. This can happen before the birth during or after it. Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than White women. Multiple factors contribute to these disparities, such as variation in quality healthcare, underlying chronic conditions, structural racism, and implicit bias. America is dead last when it comes to care for pregnant women out all the developed countries. It’s horrible and is being talked about for other races of women but when one group of women are dying at highe rate that needs to addressed immediately.African midwifery was the reason white and black children were born safely and alive during slavery times. But surprise surprise british physician hijacked african midwifery and turned it into the modern medicine today. It’s important two note that these new “standardized” male physicians at that time didn’t believe in washing hands or tool made a difference in medicine period. They would even make pregnant women “shave” before birth. And the catholic church even made it a rule that a make doctor be present at birth. African midwifery in america became a scarcity as the white men linked it to incompetency and the new “modern”standardized schooling for any medicine and as born. Anyway as of today countries like denmark with amazing healthcare for women knew the importance of midwifery and delulus to the where a physician be present at birth is only necessary in extreme cases and guess what WOMEN LIVE HEALTH LIVE WITH THEIR BABIES AT HIGHER RATES THAN ANOTHER “developed “ country. Talk about an amazing social safety net. America really needs to learn

Obgyns specialize in high risk births. Midwifery is perfectly safe and has been around a lot longer than ob.
