I went to Cyprus for a month for work. Around the city of Limassol the cats are everywhere. You hear them fighting all night long, falling off roofs, killing and hurting each other. During the day they walk all over the patios at restaurants looking for food. They're not all clean either. You see hurt cats limping around and cats missing eyes. They don't get neutered or spayed or receive vaccines or medical attention. All the way to town of Platres in the mountains. The entire island is covered with cats. It's not ok.
The corrupted government of cyprus does not care about it's own people so you understand that they do not give a shit about the animals welfare. We have more or less 2 million cats on the island. We spay and neuter from our own pockets. The situation is dramatic. Nobody cares except the rescuers and volunteers.
Yes those sweet poor animals search food everywhere some look okay others are ill , 🤒 very difficult situation , people try to help them but it is not so easy 🥲
I missed the cat park when I visited Paphos few days ago. Now Im feeling regret of not visiting this place.😭😭😿😿😿 Should have seen this video before visiting Paphos. This park was just 20 mins away from the place I stayed.
I just came to Paphos for vacation. I came to see if anyone has posted why there are soooooooo many feral cats everywhere. I've never seen so many feral cats in my life. I mean, there are thousands of them everywhere. I have seen that there is cat food just dropped around for them everywhere too. What you see surrounding this guy, is every part of Paphos. You don't have to go anywhere special. Just walk outside and you'll see this. At least, when talking about numbers. However he might be at a sanctuary, those cats are friendly, the cats I've seen (like a thousand) are beat up, muscular, scarred and constantly fighting. I wouldn't approach them, and seems like they would either run or attack if you did.

Most are feral and malnourished and sick. They are rarely kept as pets with only a few places on the island that has sanctuaries for them since most Cypriots don’t like them. In fact there was a time someone abandoned a Rottweiler by throwing it into the cat sanctuary which injured tons of cats who were sick and healing. It’s a real problem and no as nice as the video makes it look
The only real problem is the government has funds for everything else… did CVD agents work for free! I don’t think so. And yet the money was found very quickly to spy on others! This is something that can actually be resolved with funding that’s all, there are many volunteers working for FREE and yes that is their problem - they have a good heart and apparently don’t need payment for the work they put out there every day and have to deal with others not happy about the cat population… seriously 🥱
I stay in Cyprus. Let me tell you the amount of mistreatment towards cats here is disgusting. All across the island there are sick, malnourished and injured cats. This must be the most misleading RUclips video I have ever seen. Shame on you... Do some decent research before posting in future
@@sashidemedia You only showed the 'better' side of Cyprus, did you know that stray cats are rounded up and taken up to the mountains and released, just one of the 'methods' of dealing with unwanted animals....I would suggest that YOU, do better research into what happens to dogs, cats, horses and donkeys in all the Mediterranean countries.....it's not in the way that you would imagine.
