    So glad you finally got to Orlando.I tend to fly mostly with BA,but several years ago I was supposed to visit Texas,we were on the plane,waiting to depart, when it started snowing.Every airline seemed to be departing except us,we were then told,after a 2 hour wait,that the airline de icer machine had broken and served us the on board meal.After 3.5 hours,we were told the flight wouldn’t be taking place,we had to disembark and spend the night in the airport as the buses to various cities had already departed and there wasn’t a hotel room near the airport to be had and the prices were extortionate in London city and then BA didn’t provide us with hotel rooms presumably as they had cancelled so many flights.Myself and my Mum had to sleep across chairs at the airport,before making our own way home the next day to Glasgow on the bus,never did make it to Texas,lol ✈️

    At least BA found a hotel for you. Ryanair managed to get us 200 camp beds on the mezzanine floor of Toulouse airport for the night and a measly euro 5 drinks voucher for 24 hours. They could not even guarantee their next day's flight would depart (which it did not), nor would transfer us to another carrier. So we had to grab a TGB to Paris, then the Paris Metro, then the Eurostar back to London, then, the Stanstead Flyer coach back to Stanstead airport, where our car was! It took us almost exactly one year to get our money back plus the CAA compensation! I will never EVER fly Ryanair again.

    I recognise that Hotel room decor - we were at that resort a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed staying there.
    I was moaning a bit on the journey out because we had to hold for weather for an hour and were about 10 mins from diverting to Tampa when the brilliant BA pilots made it in, to a round of applause! Seeing your journey, puts our tiny little delay into perspective !

    At least you got to end up where you were supposed to 🙂 When I flew from Amsterdam to Orlando last year (November 9th), I ended up in Tampa as Orlando airport was closed. It wasn't a big deal for me as I got picked up fine, but fellow passengers had to scramble to get onto a bus that would take them to Orlando 🙂

    Next time you're flying to the USA, consider flying to Dublin from nearest airport in UK, then onwards to USA. You can clear US customs & border in Dublin which can save a lot of time at the far end. Aer Lingus flights from a lot of UK regional airports to Dublin are timed to connect with flights from Dublin to U.S.

    Hi, great video. Glad to see everything worked out ok in the end. I travelled to Orlando for 10 years with Virgin, they were great but went downhill. I was interested to see you landed at a different terminal, I am assuming this is the new terminal that they have been building for ages. The old airport was possibly the worse terminal in the world and had out lasted its purpose but you did get an epic little train trip. I also said I would never go back until the new terminal was finished so maybe I might go again soon.

      i will be interested to see if you are doing a return to England video from new terminal. I always travelled via the Virgin 747s, what a plane. Unfortunately they have all gone now! I always went on a golfing holiday and actually never went to the parks! But have seen a lot of the Orlando area. Orlando is a great place, whether you go people are polite and seemed to think we were Australian.

    Last year we flew from Newcastle to dalaman Airport, took off on time, then a horrendous noise as we climbed, we circled and returned to the airport to be welcomed by fire engines, apparently a bird had flew into the engine on take off, delayed for 4 hours and received an 8 pounds voucher each, these things happen

    @lee Derbyshire BA are responsible for the cost of the taxi from the hotel back to T5 keep the receipt and claim it when you get home along with your UK261 compensation.
    In future if this ever happens again you did not have to accept the Manchester to MCO you could have asked to be re routed on any of the flight from LHR that where flying over the pond that day IE LHR to MIA , LHR to JFK ect.
    I find very hard to believe that they could not find 4 seats in an earlier flight.

    Ouch still £550 compensation per person plus claim for the taxi from the hotel to T5 and claim for the breakfast that you bought at Manchester. Overall I think BA didnt do bad here as they could have just rebooked you and let you book your own hotel, dinner, transfer to Heathrow and claim that back. Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday

  • @andrewspence8849
    @andrewspence8849 Год назад +1

    Hope you can get some compensation from BA. out friends were due to fly back on the return flight and BA have been more than useless and done nothing much to help. They are still in Orlando now due to fly back tonight 3 days later than planned.

  • @Jamieb193
    @Jamieb193 Год назад +3

    Can't believe the reaction if I'm honest... flying back 2 hours is better than flying forward for 10 hours with a cracked windscreen.
    The fuel dump is necessary because the aircraft is equipped with enough fuel to get you to Orlando. If they attempt an emergency landing with this much fuel on board, this can cause the plane to descend to fast, hit the runway too hard and cause damage or worse.
    The main thing is, yourselves, the passengers and the crew all landed safely and nobody was hurt.

    At least BA sorted your accommodation out. We've missed our connection from Atlanta to heathrow Deltas fault . And basically in Atlanta had to fend for ourselves,find a hotel ,food ,travel to and from hotel . Then to have to fly to JFK then onto heathrow the following day . Can't claim anything because apparently it was weather related. And Delta didn't want to know once we missed connection.

    Wow, saw this on the news! So bizarre that as I was watching this video it turned out to be your flight. Are you familiar with EU261 rule? If you are more than 6 hours late at your destination (and your flight departed or landed in the UK or mainland Europe, which yours qualifies for) then you could be entitled to £520 compensation per passenger. It's really easy to claim from BA, too. I've done it before.
