This song actually hit #1 Billboard hot100. Maybe that’s why it didn’t resonate as K-POP to you, this song just resonated with a wide audience? There is an English version to this as well. If you haven’t checked out ‘Set Me Free’ please do. This was the other song he has from his solo album. All Jimin’s songs right now in his album for that matter is doing well in the charts. We are proud of him. 💜

i’d say the mud stands for either or both some tough times he was going. through and unhealthy escapism methods (drinking, partying, etc), he uses the same hand to hold drinks and high five people for example. but when he comes back, his problems/depression are still there

His first solo album FACE tells his emotions during pandemic, feeling lonely, missing performing, in denial avoiding the reality clubbing with fake friendships, and facing himself to acknowledge the situation to finally set him free and move on. It was his catharsis. Jimin said that the songs in this album represented his feelings during the COVID pandemic, in chronological order. It seems like this song is about escapism or denial, and the mud represents the feelings/pain that he was trying to get away from.
Jimin said his album Face is about what he went through during the pandemic. He said the Like Crazy MV(And I think a little of the song as well) is inspired from a 2011 movie by the same name.

Jimin's voice is so resonate it does sound like two people or tones coming through. Especially when he gets into his chest voice. The best thing I can compare it to is bag pipes. There's the constant undertone and then the actual notes that are being played. I'm obsessed with timbre as well. Such a unique voice as you were saying.

This is definitely an 80's synth pop song. Having lived through the 80's as a teen I listened to this type of music a lot back then. I love it for the memories it brought back to me. That heady feeling of being a teenager and going to the local disco to dance the night away and have fun.
yes it sure is more American sounding, but it´s produced by jimin and his korean producers. BTS does it all, and this MV is surely made to catch the American public too and it did. this song hit nr 1 on billboard hot 100. and jimin also made a english version of this song.
Most BTS songs have English lyrics interspersed in them. BTS are a genre unto themselves they don’t fit into any box. If you expect to find Kpop from then you will be confused. Because they constantly venture out of the box. Even in their solo endeavours, BTS members continue this habit of expanding their horizons.
Like Crazy is great song to reflect this. Jimin really has a masterpiece in this album. It is deeply personal and beautiful.
Agree, most Jimin song gives a different vibe and not single genre defining. His sound cuts across different music genres beautifully . Filter doesn't sound KPop and its a 3 yrs old song even.

K-pop is an industry and not a music genre. This is why, BTS discography is unique because they explore different types of music genre and are not boxed in as only "K-pop" artists. Have watched some of your reaction videos and it's good that you're open to discovering BTS' music. You nice, keep going. 💜
His voice is EXTREMELY UNIQUE. As someone new to BTS I can’t get over it. He is the Michael Jackson of this generation. Wait until you see his choreo danced with New York dancers in Jimmy Fallon’s. Careful they tend to block you here if you decided to post a reaction. The Korean dancers did a good job but those NYC dancers are on another level and really pushes his dance to its best.

I would say 99% of BTS discography is Korean with English. It’s always been like that, and it was only during the pandemic that they decided to release three different english pop songs to lift the spirits of the world. Even though they mostly speak Korean, you’d be surprised by how much some english words are a part of their vocabulary. I didn’t think about it until they played a game where they were not allowed to say anything in English or their points will go back to zero while playing table tennis. Man, they did not know how to not say something in english lol. It was pretty funny.

Kpop is just Korean pop😭 Like Crazy is synth pop song sang by a Korean lol. React to his whole FACE album, it's really great. He managed to make it cohesive even if it's different genres of 6 songs because of the whole album concept.
The English version of Like Crazy for me has managed to sound more sensual, idk but Jimin has this way of singing his vowels that sounds really attractive so when it's English and i can understand better, the effect is like 3x more than usual 😂 even Koreans say Jimin's pronounce (or sing) Korean words different than usual, like he's giving life through words. I only understood the full meaning of what they said when i heard Like Crazy English version. Even the remixes of the English version is amazing 😭 Too bad this didn't get radio play in US, it would have been a great hit.

i think they did this on purpose to catch a wider net. bts always do what they want. just look at suga and RM albums they are so different in genres and sound.

@@kunikuzushis I think it differs on 'how' you view kpop. To me kpop is not a genre, it is an industry. So labelling a pop music from Korea and holding it just inside that kpop box is not correct for me. Esp when that music is enjoyed around the globe.

"Michael Jackson vibes" is a cliche thrown out by so many reactors toward the BTS soloists with high voices. All the middle aged men seem to do this. They sing in the same genre, period. Jungkook has done a tribute, period. It almost demeans BTS to keep saying it over and over. Listen to solos by V, J-Hope, Jim, RM, and others by Jungkook and Jimin and leave Michael Jackson out.
