I spent 7 years of my life in this Beautiful City …….. The buildings, old and new are unreal …...and I love how everyone is your " Mate ".
Ever asked yourself who built the buildings.in the time frame given. With horses and rope pulleys fired the bricks moved the aggregate to the sites.i was there 3ago the architecture is the same All over The World I found out later . London has similar buildings same time frame... Battersea pumping station has 10 million bricks.1840s.. something not right..

I still think about Melbourne as having its own unique feel and atmosphere. The best aspect is the people there. You feel so connected without having to speak to them in a "pleasant" way...don't know how to describe in more detailed words.
Hi
For those wondering about the Pink Lake it's situated off Todd road which comes off our most famous Bridge, the Westgate Bridge. The lake is, experiencing ideal conditions for the lakes algae, which grows at the bottom of the lake and feeds of the salt crust, to produce a red pigment as part of its photosynthesis process.
The result is a bubblegum bright pink lake that has to be seen to be believed. Although the water may look strange, the water is actually crystal clear, albeit very salty. No, don't drink it.

Proud to say my lineage dates back to Melbourne, Australia. My mother lived there for 12 years and my aunt was born there before moving to America. Melbourne is gorgeous and it’s my dream to visit Australia!

@@clayreardon9935 it's one of the famous universities in victoria. located right in the city with some historical buildings. such a good environment to support your study.
God tier city. Currently back here on holiday from interstate and there's nowhere quite like it. Love the eclectic architecture more than anything and the food, street life and shopping is great
I love Melbourne, used to live there for 3 years back in the 2000s, now I live in Vancouver, Canada, very comparable however each has its own soul. I miss Melbourne so much I wanna visit again after the pandemic 🥰😍

When I look at Melbourne, I see nothing really out of the ordinary but it is a city built with people in mind, for people to have a great standard of living. It's not a museum city but a city that is to be experienced. It doesn't have the beauty of Paris or the frenetic pace of New York but it enhances the human experience in an urban setting to higher degree than the former two. This is why melbourne is the best city in the world. Best city to live, work or study; I'm not to sure if it is the best city to visit like for a week or so.
Nowhere near of that . Dutch Scandinavian or German cities are much more livable and more beautiful . And the living standards are the same in those cities like in AUS .And Infrastructure is great in DE or Netherlands . Their cities have got extensive metro systems , the best highways in the world , trams , buses and S-Bahns (which are the best part of german infrastrucutre)
The fact that it isn't full of tourists is a plus as well

@@ChrisJohannsen That is just a proof you have never been in Germany or Japan or even Spain their infrastructure is so great when i visited Sydney 2 yrs ago and it's infrastructure was preety non extensive and not so good connected and quite old . It is also because there are so few people in Australia and they country is preety big.
Liveability depends on rankings but really there is no difference in standard of living whether you live in Canada , Germany , Austria or Sweden.
Maybe you should visit any other country ? Because i dont think Melbourne is any special to the World . There are soo many great cities in the world . But this is also what makes Melbourne great an ordinary place to live , work , livable same as German cities nothing really special but they are livable , green , beautiful and great for work and live opportunities.

Even today, there are 4 Aussie cities in top 10 best cities in the world. It might be your opinion, but the fact is Aussie cities are the best.

But still i prefer European styled cities than American sttyled cities like Melbourne or Chicago etc .Also By your criteria Paris would be smaller than Perth just because it has got an most of inner city in it's area while in reality there is 11 milion people there containing cities and suburbs of Paris
