8 years ago, Nova got put on the back burner by Def Jam because they wanted her to be like Britney Spears. She and Tom were friends then. She called and asked Tom in Canada to come and make some music with her because she was depressed. Tom had just had a mental breakdown from addiction and has spent months at his parents house. He traveled to LA to see Nova and they wrote music and made some videos and while that was going on, fell in love. They called themselves GFBF. The music they made was Punk/rock/alt music. It's fun to go back and watch those videos on YT. Young Tom and Nova. They shelved the band when Tom's solo music blew up with Dear Rappers. Their new album they dropped is GFBF with a little rap thrown in, but mainly their story from beginning to now.. GFBF sound is different than Tom's solo music and Nova's solo music. Sorry this explanation was so long, but it's necessary so that you won't expect it to be bangers and bar heavy. I think Danger off of the new album is closer than any other song.

#HOG in the house. IMO, this was Tom's way of dissing another artist without naming them. During Tom's biggest release to date, FACTS with Ben Shapiro, which did about 10 million RUclips views in a week, Ryan Upchurch went crazy and started dropping a couple of diss tracks on Tom, snd doing 4-6 rants on RUclips daily. Tom and Church, everyone thought they were cool. Tom did a vid called END OF THE WORLD with John Rich, which was a country beat, but with aliens attacking earth, beaming up a farmer and cows. Tom had done a dope song with Struggle Jennings as features on Ryan's song TRAVELLERS. Church is popular as a country rapper. He is very good, and talked about getting together a bunch of that genre and elevating it. I believe Tom in essence said let's do it. Because Tom is not specific to that style and didn't grow up as a U.S. country background, Church took offense. And when Tom did the country beat and aliens, he said Tom disrespected country folk. For about a year from that point, Church would start dropping little criticisms of Tom on shorts. But the became more frequent and more critical overtime. But than he started having a problem with Tom having been born in Canada, rappingabout American political and social issues, even though Tom moved to the U.S. and has his citizenship. Other areas of pettiness and lies were saying Tom was a sellout, an industry plant, he is only doing it for the money, he doesn't believe what he is rapping. Tom's response after 3 disses, was God Mode. Tom stated and showed how he would respond to rapper critics with NO RESPONSE. But Tom and Nova, love dissing haters repeatedly without naming them. Reasons I believe this is directed at Church. 1. This was his first country beat since END OF THE WORLD, after the disstracks, and the reintroduction of the alien. 2. Listen to the lyrics. Title...WE AIN'T COWBOYS, we just like the hats...if we meet you on a back road, we will just kick your ass....Yee-haw (Yee-haw), swingin' if there's beef until they teeth gone (teeth gone)
Ride into the night singin' our theme song . 3. If you look at 2 more vids since this, GOODBYE JOE and WILD HORSES are country beats. And in wild horses Tom and Nova are decked out in hats and boots again. I think it was deliberate to do all in country themes. Like I said, they enjoy poking you in yhe eye. They know it pisses him off, and anyone in the know, knows who a ND why. But because you don't name them, they are frustrated, cause if you claim it's about you, you just say their whacked.
