I am painting the Dutch Dolls that I made from a log, using the traditional pattern for this type of doll, also sometimes called a Penny Wooden or a Grodnertal Doll.
It is interesting seeing how the simple paint design brings the dolls to life, and each face seems to show a different character. - Хобби
Another fascinating project. Can't wait to see what you come up with next! Thanks again!
Harry, I've loved this little series with the dolls and the fact that they are a green wood project. I know that you have done the research but it occurs to me, or rather, appears to me, that the grey hairline may be the actual hair and the black may be some kind of head dress. Just a thought. Keep on producing these videos. We love them. 👍
Wonderful, really enjoyed this. I can't wait to see what you make next.
They look excellent and terrifying, Harry!
Harry, I really enjoyed this little project. They turned out great. Looking forward to the next project. Thanks for sharing these great projects. Davin
I'll have to go back and watch these from the beginning. I do a bit of spoon carving and bowl turning. So it seems quite doable! Thanks for the video!
Beautiful. That group is to be known as the Bucklehurst Rogers Family of Greenwood. :) It has been a enjoyable series of videos. Thanks for sharing
I was thinking its a black head scarf
Yes the grey is the hair.
❤is it possible to buy one of your unpainted dolls?
Thanks, I am not making any more at the moment. My book is on Amazon with instructions on how to make one. Best wishes Harry
They definitely look a bit scary.
... the eyes did have a "follow you" effect.
I think they're nightmarish! Not your fault Harry, it's the design.
They are getting dressed now!!
Great accomplishment! You have painted the doll faces just like an original antique peg doll. The fun part is that you
made four sisters cut from the same log.
They are beautiful....
Amazing work!
Thanks Mr Rogers
I inherited a collection of antique Indonesian wooden puppets from my Oma that made in a very similar way and have been having great fun following along with the steps and recreating a version of my antique puppets. These puppets always gave me nightmares as a kid and now I can make more. Next step for me is sewing outfits.
Thank you for making all the fantastic videos. I have learned a lot, had fun, made puppets, and impressed my family- so what more could I ask for?
Thanks Riel...that sounds great.
Brilliant series Harry, the finished product looks great.
Thank you for sharing all the skills and techniques, during the production of the dolls.
Take care, regards, Chris.
As others, I enjoyed this series and love how they turned out.
