This is because, if it is a slightly unfavorable matchup, chance of someone else dodging is low. So everyone is scared that the game goes through as they wouldn't trust others to dodge it, so they will dodge themselves. But when someone picks Yumi mid, everyone expects that someone else will definitely dodge, including the player picking Yumi. He might even have picked Yumi specifically to increase the chances of someone dodging other than himself. So when everyone is confident that someone else dodges, the game ends up going through

yuumi mid is not actually bad. it funnels the mid gold to another person mid and late game while yuumi gets gold from kills so jungle can also get turbo'd from an extra lane of gold

Unironically though, I don't think Yuumi was inting. Looking at her name and how she played, I would guess that she really doesn't know how to play anything aside from Yuumi. So rather than locking in an actual midlaner, she played her champ as well as possible in an off-role and just did the best she could. Wp Yuumi!
Just lock in lissandra, malzahar, aurelion, garden, naafiri, ekko, most adcs, etc. can first time those champs in a chall lobby and still carry

i started playing league in season 9 was a mid lux brand after yuumi came out i move to be a yuumi otp and because yuumi still gets a 30% ban and sometimes gets "stolen" i only play her 60% of the time so if that yuumi only actually play yuumi there alot of yuumi main or dodges alot

to be fair, while kindred IS very overpowered, this video was a full damage kindred with a yuumi, only reason the kindred was allowed to go full damage build was because of yuumi, and crit adcs rn are pretty powerful so any adc that gets IE auto wins
She's getting nerfed next patch, honestly I'm surprised at some of those nerfs, most of my S tier junglers aren't getting touched so I'm okay with it.
it's not kindered that is broken, it's the overtuned damage all over the game, any champ could do the same with that amount of gold, even tanks. The issue with kindered that his range is insane

Yummi actually feels really strong when used correctly and its also brain dead easy to do. Makes it that much more frustrating when they just do nothing all game.

@jonaskarlsson5901 in played 1 game of it and i felt like a fucking master at the champ. Press the shield button when the adc goes to trade. Press q to poke and slow on CD. Jump off and aa once then jump back on the adc. Congrats you are now a yummi master

But honestly, staying in lane, getting XP and not dying is so hard for some people but everything this Yuumi did early to win this game. Broxah got fed, Yuumi got Solo Lane XP and lots of assist gold and was much stronger than she should be at that point in game, which is why she felt so over powered with her shields at some points.
The fact that you wrote that in minute 1 is what won you the game... Made everyone atleast try to win xD
Yuumi played the game just about as well as she could have. The only thing I'd consider changing is Dorans Ring to a Dark Seal, and to get a support item after her first item. With Dark Seal you also get 3 potions which is like buying a hundred extra hit points before your first reset and makes it very hard to get poked out or dove early, and since it's very VERY hard for Yuumi to die after level 6 when she stays on the jg the Dark Seal eventually gives her an additional 40ap for a total of 55ap at the cost of mana regen. The mana is obviously good, but she already took presence of mind so it's a bit overkill. It's also really good to get the support item after your first item is completed since it literally pays for itself, gives you good mana regen, and a powerful item passive later.
Or...they could not be a Yuumi OTP, learn how to play the game, and not have to soft int every time they don't get support?

People just assume she can't lane but I've tried top lane Yuumi before in draft and she's actually really scary even when not attatched to anyone thanks primarily to the fact her W gives her pretty much infinite sustain, all she really has to do is watch her mana early game and she will NEVER die. Mind you I am a lowly silver player so I wasn't exactly playing against the cream of the crop but, still.

You essentially had 2 supports. No matter what you pick, as long as you do the best you can and survive lane, I guess anything can work when you group up! Glad to see your positive attitude paid off! Shout out to Yuumi!

Just because something is unconventional does not mean it's griefing/hostage taking. I also play Renata mid at times when enemy is reliant on autoattack dmg. Or i pick Urgot mid vs Fizz( Free matchup for urgot) or Garen/Nautilus mid vs Katarina.

Midlane in master: yuumi vs yorick

I was just as prepared to hate on Yuumi like everyone else.
But... This yuumi was communicative, did their best to play the game well, and IMO, carried just as hard as Broxah did. The situation that caused this game sucks, but i think the Yuumi player did their best to deal with it. I dont have any hate for someone who does what they can with what they've been given.

You should be allowed to play anything anywhere as long as you're trying to win. It's not soft inting to pick something that's off meta unless you're legit 100% trolling and just going 0/20 running it down with no items lmao. Also the fact that you reported her in lobby before seeing her strat was really cringe.
Dude. You know this person was hostage taking and trolling, the only reason they likely even tried to play the game is because they realized they were on stream after the fact. Don't encourage this in any way, don't honor them honor one of your teammates for keeping their mental and playing through it.

The player is a Yuumi OTP that got auto filled mid and decided that it was better to try a funnel Yuumi strategy rather than first timing a random mid champ and griefing the game. They didn't run it down, didn't AFK, helped their team at every chance and, like Broxah said, were his most valuable teamate at the end of the day. Just because it's an "unconventional" strat that most people would lock in to int, it doesn't mean that they were trolling. You can legit look at their profile and watch the game again to know they never trolled at all. You are just generalizing it. Sorry to break it to you: you are a culprit of the problem you pointed out. Just stop.
This is one of the reasons we should delete yuumi as a whole. Ofc she can't play lane they arent required to even know how to move/position/anything that isnt button spam with 10 summoner spells. It's disgusting that such a champion that requires 0 game knowledge exists still.
Not saying all other supports know how to lane same with junglers or top players how to play mid but it wouldn't be a first time seeing a yuumi stand afk for like a second or two after the person she was on dies cuz they're just not even paying attention to the game and it's sad.
