You forgot when Overeem clearly tapped out Miocic
He felt the tap
@@Bouldah CLEARLY
Yeah...how can they forget that!! Poor overreacting😥🤣
I always loved his reaction
Reem: I clearly felt a tap
Rogan: We didn't see a tap
Reem: Eh, maybe you're right
Lmfao😂
Man, I can't believe Chael Sonnen was involved in two of the greatest submissions ever! Truly the GOAT.
3 when he tapped out Tito
And he continues unbeatabble
He knew he would be recognized in that fight and he wanted to give that win to the other fighter so he could have his moment. Chael stays playing the long game
@@benisontenison8225 undisputed
Embarrassing that he yelled tap never seen that before 😂 chael is a great comedian
Classic 1993 ufc. When the fighter had to explain what a submission was to the referee
LMAO
Man I truly appreciate the more technical and better understanding of the sports commentary with Jon Anik but Goldberg’s “It is all over” and “Here we go” are such classic lines.
Yea. Goldberg and Rogan drove that shit in the 2000s. I love and appreciate Anik as much as the next guy. What I can't stand is casuals who SHIT on Goldie and suck Aniks dick. Goldie was a BROADCAST professional. He may not have had as much technical knowledge as Anik, but he was there in some of UFC's most important and formative years, as they became far-and-away the most successful MMA organization on planet Earth. It's ok to love them both, is all I would say to every single casual hater out there.
VIRTUALLY IIiidenticallll
Goldberg makes any UFC event he's in unlistenable. Even DC is easy listening next to him
@@lostexodus He's no longer in the UFC since a long time
Definitely and the "fighter A is looking to choke out fighter B!!!!!"
DJ"s arm bar on Borg was pure art
It's one thing to train it but to say yep this is what I'm doing in the moment and pull it out so beautifully is a whole different beast
@@modest1989 Honestly makes it look like anyone could pull it off. True greatness before our eyes
poetry in motion.
Came to the video thinking "they better put that one or I riot"
2:38 look at those muscles on Carlos goddamn pre usada days were crazy.
Love some Aleksei Oleinik and his old-man strength. 47 submission wins is crazy to think about.
The Boa Constrictor, really fitted his nickname
that Ezikiel choke is a thing of beauty
Sooooo many fighters wont even get close to 47 fights n this man has 47 fucking sub's lmao
@@italianstalian331 I knoooow, man! 77 fights total, with 60 wins and 16 losses. So many promotions have come and gone since then and this man is still fighting for the UFC at 45.
@@OrionF02Cheshire yeah he's a animal lol , obviously at 45 he's not gonna be at the top and he's never been the most athletic but he's a strong ass motherfucker
Best sub of 1993 was undoubtedly when Royce Gracie submitted a boxer wearing one boxing glove by laying on top of him and giving him a panic attack because he couldn’t get up or get Royce off of him.
Notice how in every ''best X from the UFC'' mighty mouse is always there?
GOAT for sure
4:13 Chael was basically inviting the guy to submit him
Because Chael is such a great guy
Are we forgetting about the night that Zabit and Aljamain BOTH hit the same knee bar from the back?
9:50 I was doubting Jon Anik's professionalism for a sec, then looked up that it's Anthony "Fluffy" Hernandez lol
Chan Sung Jung aka The Korean Zombie should be a hall of famer, he's had too many legendary submissions to be ignored
Chael is such a great fighter that he telepathically felt his opponent wanting to tap so he told the ref. What a great, undefeated guy.
7:34 it happens so fast but damn. DJ could/can do it all. How fast he flows to the other side into the armbar... wtf. Then the move at 8:07 is still the greatest submission I've ever seen
Some of the best original ideas in the MMA space. Well done ITP!
I saw a lot of basketball youtubers making videos like these .finally mma channels are starting to evolve
Yes I agree. This guy is great
MMA Dive did this with KOs not too long ago
Wooowwwww all the way back in the days that _Knee Bars_ were "Ankle Locks"
But for real, still one of the best ever is DJ's arm bar on Borg... still hard to believe that one!
Dustin Hazelett's whizzer to armbar on Josh Burkman (submission of the year) & Maia's lateral drop to triangle on Sonnen shoulda made the cut imo
Hazeletts armbar was unreal. Miss Frank Mir's Kimura on Nogueira as well on this list
DJ in my opinion was and still is the P4P number 1, damn underrated. PS: awesome compilation specially the early ones
2:36 Newton's arm is ridiculous!
Because he had more drugs in him than a pharmacy.
Can you do best "Combobreakers"? i.e. when Pena charged at Nunes and Amanda sat her down with that hook.
You thought of one situation and want to make an entire video out of it. Casual
@@minormarley5195 How does that make him a casual? Please explain.
@@minormarley5195 Rozenstruik sitting down Crowder and Conor knocking out Aldo would also work well for that.
@@LND209 fr bro wtf 😭😭 people just be saying shit
@@ashislam282 lol casual don’t talk you aren’t good
Great video idea how about the kos next or fight of the year since 93
Zabit's Banana Split vs Davis, and Khabib smooth transition armbar to triangle vs Gaethje (even this one won submission of the year i believe) should've featured.
Anyway, great video ITP
That banana split is legendary, you’re correct. I don’t know why it’s so easy for me to forget about.
Zabit's is outshadowed because Aljamain Sterling did it earlier in the same night.
I refuse to accept that Brock vs Mir was 14 years ago. WTF?! 😅
The first one at least
@@anthuancruz287 we old 😢
props for putting in the work to make this one. your channel is my favorite by a long shot, which includes the streams! i love everything you’re doing homie
Johnson v Borg is one of the more impressive atheletic feats i've seen.
Gg, ITP. Great compilation.
Big John is such a legend.
Chael the only guy to yell out tap when he had a free hand to easily tap with lol
That rnc by Hughes on Trigg and BJ. Golden age lol. Never f with an Iowa farm boy… unless you’re a train.
Also I forgot about BJ’s heeels to the liver while on the back. So crazy. And how can we forget the zombies twister… loved reliving so many excellent memories. Great montage.
Or you’re Thiago alves
Crazy thing is the train was completely fucked, but Matt Hughes is still walking and talking. BMF Hall of Famer.
@@geezushasrisen he’s walking and talking but not well.
@@nathanclark3575 Still walking and talking.
@@geezushasrisen 🙄 dude we agree with each other. Why so argumentative? Hughes is my people. We grew up 45 mins from each other. My best friend used to roll with him @ camp militech back in the early 2k’s.
Love Hughes dearly but my point stands… he wasn’t to be truffled with- till the accident.
I remember watching the Korean Zombie slap that twister on Garcia. Everyone in buffalo wild wing that in ear shot looked at me like I was an idiot when I said he going for a twister.
I think Demian Maias neck crank on Rick Story should’ve been the one for 2012
Dude 1999 should've been Jeremy Horn hitting Chuck Liddell with an inverted arm-triangle choke
How y’all forget Bryce Mitchell’s twisters??? 🤨😒
I've never seen that Taktarov choke on Tank Abbott before. thanks for this.
Sorry, but 2002 has to be Mir's shoulder lock over Pete Williams. Incredible speed and if i'm correct, only time we've ever seen the submission pulled out like that.
1:43 was funny af, the way he looked at his leg like “wait, I can take that!”
It’s crazy how much the skill level has increased over the years, I fully believe a 155er outside the top 15 would beat all the 155ers of the 90s
Mighty Mouse flying armbar on Borg was easily the best submission of all time I've seen nothing that comes close
I’d say Oliveras calf slicers up there.
“ANTHONY FUCKING HERNANDEZ” 😂 never heard that energy from Anik before
I can’t believe zabit submission is not in this video
Oliveira vs Wiselly in 2012 and Paul Craig vs Jamahal Hill in 2021
Wasn't Craig-Hill a TKO though?
@@graydoesntmatter yeah, i forgot it hahahaha, thanks for reminding me
Kneebar ankle lock samething lol
That twister by zombie and the suplex arm bar are always amazing highlights.
How can you not add Frank Mir vs Pete Williams to this video? Or Nick Diaz' Gogoplata versus Takanori Gomi? Or Mir vs Nogueira 2? Or Tony Ferguson vs Kevin Lee?
There have been so many great submissions over the years that I'd love to see another video like this. Maybe from the year 2000 forward.
Other great submissions that I would have loved to see were Jones vs Machida and Oliveira vs Poirier.
The Korean zombies twister is by far the best.
9:50 I love how that sounds so close to “Anthony fucking Hernandez!”
Glad Aljo was 2020 very skilled match
Bryce mitchell hit a nasty twister in 2019
The 2011 submission is so sick!!!
Ken Shamrock looked like Luke Rockhold 👀
I don’t know why but I would like to see a rematch between Zombie and Dustin.
Dustin will win easy
idk what year they were but the von flue and salivary chokes were fire....also the calf slicer by do Bronx were all sick chokes
That Twister 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫🔥🔥🔥
Do with the slam arm bar wad incredible
That Gillian Robertson rnc on Agapova was stuff of nightmares
love that you included the st. preux von flue
Dude! I've been waiting for a grappling focused video, hope to see more soon!
Edit: Holy shit, that Peruvian Necktie was so fucking awesome
Ryan Hall vs BJ Penn honorable mention
Did I hear Anik correctly at 9:50 when he said Anthony fucking Hernandez?
Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Calvin Kattar was definitely the best submission of 2019. Never seen anything like it
lol chael screaming "TAAP TAAP"
Hernandez choking out an overweight Vieira was incredible lol
Chael so nice he's on this twice
missing when masvidal got submitted. that was a really cool submission
All of these have nothing on Turkey and Provolone. Best sub ever.
Dude, the 2017 one is NASTY
Let’s get a best submission at every weight class vid
Those early days man... Shamrock and Gracie👌🏻
My favorite thing about Diaz's choke on McGregor is how he punched the guy's head in to get him into the right position. Some guys would just try to weasel their arm through but Diaz, being a fucking gangster, just hammers McGregors head in like a carpenter to lock in the sub.
Missing werdum guillotine on Cain
Matt hughes armbar on St Pierre . To many good submissions 👏 great highlights
BJ, DJ and Chael with the double sub's.
honest question, how can Hernandez (2021 submission) be allowed to fight with an earring? one hit and his ear lobe is flying off or am i missing something?
Did Anik yell "Anthony fuckin Hernandez!" on that last one? HAHAHA!
4:32 nice audio dubbing, ITP 😏
I forgot how hard Borg fought the DJ armbar.
Big John reffing all of these
Best sub from 2002 was the Frank Mir inside shoulder lock, only ever been done by him in the UFC.
I don't understand how the Ezekiel choke on Albini was better than the night Sterling and Zabit bot got a Suloev stretch in the same night
You forgot Paul Craig submit ankalaev, that triangle was amazing
‘07 i would’ve gone Griffin over Shogun
‘09 Maia over Sonnen
‘11 Mir over Nog (hard to argue twister though)
‘12 Oliveira calf slicer on Eric Wisley
‘13 Pettis vs Henderson
‘14 Oliveira over Hioki
‘15 Rousey over Zingano (how the hell was this not your top for that year?!)
‘18 Hall over Penn or Zabit pretzel
‘19 Bryce Mitchell twister
‘20 Khabib over Gaethje
‘21 Jacare over Muniz (Hernandez solid 2nd choice)
Spencer Fischer with a sitting triangle was pretty epic, though not a big sell fight. Spike TV I think.
Militich put out some fighters back in the day👍
You should make a video of all the Dana White Contender Series fighters who lost their debuts.
Chaels the type of dude to yell TAP! TAPPP!!!!! as if thats less embarrassing than actually tapping lmao
Petition to rename the suplex armbar into the "Mighty Mousetrap"
most brutal revenges in mma? like brock vs mir 2 type shit
Damn that dude in 2007. Ugh brutal lol.
1999 did dude forget he was in a fight
Dan miller had one of the nastiest standing guillotines I have ever seen in I think it was the ifl. Made a man's head touch his own chest
Man this Royce Grace guy is pretty good...
I hope Shamrock verse lobar is on here. But you did get some very good Frank Shamrock footage.
I better see a Bryce Mitchell Twister in here!!
where is Zapit with his "splitting an American ass wide open" submission
Am I tripping or did Jon Anik yell "Anthony FUCKING Hernandez!" at the end there? XD
conor didn't waste a second he is a real tapping machine 😂😂
Rousey vs Zingano deserves to be here.
every1 sleeping on Bryce mitchell smh no love for the twister 2019
‘95 was a rough year in choices, eh?
Dan Severn's caveman-like tap out will never not be funny. Just shows how new the sport was
OSP van fluke is the most impressive submission. He did it 4x in the ufc if I am not wrong
