have you played the game? after you finish the game's campaign, you need to do repetitive tasks over and over again to level up and get to the final ending. It appears that not having proper knowledge on what they are typing is considered as commenting. Modern text-based commenting standards have fallen so far.
You play certain games over 1000 hours and you consider 40 hrs a grind? Skyrim is more than 100 hrs game, was that a grind? Grind is doing something for months, mmos for example.
u need to read what i commented on replies. in a 15-20hrs campaign, 40*hrs to get to the "real" ending is a grind. and its bad. i dont see why u brought up skyrim / mmo (a genre?!) as example. duration is relative, 7 hrs in firewatch is better than a 40hrs grind for real ending... 300hrs in witcher 3 is better than 40hrs grind for a real ending, 15mins with flappy birds is better than 40hrs of grind for a real ending.... see it now? and this grind pushes people to use micro-transactions. which is bad.
First rule in games, every game is repetitive, every single game even Witcher 3 which you mentioned and i love. If you like a game and you like to repeat certain actions then you buy it and you want to play it and you want it to last as long as possible. If you buy a game and you don't like the kind of repetitive gameplay that it provides then you are a fucking idiot for buying it in the first place. Once you buy a game don't come to me and say it's repetitve because that's what we call grind, repetitive actions. I specifically don't like Shadow of war and i will not buy it but that has nothing to do with any grind because i consider that argument idiotic to say the least. If someone who bought the game and liked its repetitive nature calls it a grind then he's a new fool.
Game of the year my heart
I play through this game like once a year. This game is truly a masterpiece, every time I play it all over again it reminds me how much I love this game. So sad to see that there isn´t a sequel to this.

So recently I had an uruk grunt get the finishing hit on me. He got promoted to captain and I eventually shamed him and then made him an ally. Later on in the game I'm walking around only to find a captain has taken my uruk captain hostage and purposely slit his throat in front of me to piss me off. I healed him before he bled out and we took that douche bag down. He's was my best buddy since then. I went to siege the fort with him and he helped me with the warlord. After that I promoted him to warlord of the fort. Such epic moments with the new nemesis system.

I know right! I met this one mystic trickster who was impossible to kill. The only reason why I haven't died yet is because I've been saved twice by random Gondorian soldiers(The second time he said "Stupid orcs never learn"... poetry in motion).

There's this one dude that i have history with at this point. I saw him in the volcanic land at first, level 46. He was capable of oneshotting me at that point. I tried challenging him a few times up to the point he got to ~56 and I gave up at this point. I go do some story missions and he comes out of nowhere. I'm in a different region and he hunts me down, takes me down again. This region was a lower level one, so he happens to go up against the Overlord and WINS. He's currently level 65 or something and I just reached level 30. Can't wait to beat him.
He's got some insane buffs and barely any weaknesses to exploit. His biggest strength is that he has two crossbows. Each bolt is capable of oneshotting me. I got him to 5% hp once (barely managed to with the two last chances ability), and I can't anymore since he's now hiding in his fortress that I simply can't take over currently.
Anyway that was my experience today with the hardest difficulty. It's challenging compared to the previous game.

Thanks for this wonderful game.. Started playing Yesterday around 7pm. But I was able to seige 2 castles. I know it isn't much but man what a challenge this game is now with Nemisis difficulty it's like every move every hit I make could be a mistake or a good thing. Thank you for all my wonderful followers and all those blood brothers I accidently poisoned and was trying to recruit and ended up killing.. Thank you to all my Warchiefs who made seiging a castle that had a 276lvl vs my 172lvl.. So much easier. Thank you for making Elven Rage so freaking badass as well as stealth killing and Execution. Thank you for this wonderful game. For the Bright Lord!
Too many random betrayals. The key word there is "Random." Gave my favourite Troll a cursed weapon and his own entourage and made him my bodyguard and saved his life a few times and he still ended up randomly betraying me. That pretty much sums up the entire game.

Been playing the game since launch. The Microtransactions are literally nonexistent, you will never need them unless you play like a reviewer (skip everything but the main story missions and rush through the game). The entire situation has been blown out of proportion concerning the MTs. While they definitely do not belong in the game, Monolith made it so the only people that will need them are idiots who won't enjoy all that the game has to offer.

Did you add in your follower and nemesis? I did and the only one I've found is my nemesis at the start of the game, I've yet to find my follower. Do you know when he appears?
No idea when the follower appears, I've only gotten so far as the first Fortress Siege because I like to go and get the collectibles and do sidequests. That first time fighting your Shadow of Mordor nemesis was fucking badass though.

Schinak lmao I understand not wanting to be cheated out of a game, but allowing others to pay not to play their own game is just fine by me if loot boxes aren't *necessary* to progress. "A fool and his money are easily parted", and I have no sympathy for the people who are angry because they can't control their impulses not to spend real money to buy loot boxes in the game... as long as it doesn't make the game nigh impossible to complete, otherwise. I was furious that they had loot boxes in a primarily single player game, until I read that the game *"was balanced with the loot boxes/economy turned off"* which means that they balanced the game for the gameplay as it's always been meant to be played, without the loot economy being integral to it. And that, along with my own actual experience so far in the game, have convinced me that the game is fun for people who actually want to play all it has to offer, and the loot boxes exist to help those who really do just want to pay not to play the game they bought, or because they're not enjoying the massive interlocking systems that make up _Shadow of War_ for the moment the decide to spend currency on loot boxes. I don't care if WB makes money off fools.
I play and love _Warframe_ ; I know how loot boxes can be integrated into a game without affecting the gameplay or locking off parts specifically from people who done spend money. So far, this looks to be doing juuuust fine. Nothing is walled away forever, and all you need to get the advantages you're looking for is to *play the damn game* haaaah!
Amazing game so far. I played most of yesterday, and loved how difficult the new nemesis difficulty is. I've already fought 2 legendary captains that took 15 minutes of kiting around the map and using stealth and archery to defeat, the new ability for enemies to adapt makes captains feel more real. Now, captains aren't complete pushovers, and can really come back to haunt you if you don't make sure you know what their weaknesses and strengths are.

Play on brutal setting for the best experience, you rely on stealth more since almost anything kills you in two hits, but you also kill things quicker too. Battles are more intense, and your Orcs and Mounts help even things out. Its so much fun

Two years since it released, best game ever
Who here is still playing this awesome game , I recently got it for PS4 for free , so I’ve started again , forgot how much you can do within the game
now that I have finished game. I still have the same urge as during the first game. Have a 3rd person action/naval game with pirates being the main focus with the amazing nemesis system. I mean imagine upgrading your own pirate ship, customizing it, upgrading it, having it's unique perks, recruiting/forcing mates who also are part of nemesis system and have their own perks and so on.
Then sailing seas, islands and so on where you encounter random pirate ships with their on perks, with their own captain with perks. Have various personalities and naval combat ai..
Grunts (random pirates/navy) Captains (ship captains) Warchiefs (fleet commanders), Overlord (Commander ?).
I just hope to get quality pirate game with nemesis system at some point during this lifetime.

Before I played the first game, I thought this was going to be an average game. Boy was I wrong. It turned out to be the best most underated game I ever played. The combat system is amazing and unlocking new moves with runes made it even more worth it. This game is a must have for any gamer. It's just hard to not like it

it is a tough fight, but I and my captains can do it.
suddenly BUM captain B betray me
the fight becomes from challenging but manageable into hard as shit.
I already used my last change, so I say " hey, let's cut my losses" and order captain A to retreat, no way one of my captains is going to die on my watch.
I'm trying to run, but the captain I originally wanted to kill hit me. another "last chance" I know I can't bloke this one and preparing to die.
WOSH, my bodyguard come in, save my skin and kill the captain.
I never was this happy in my life from an NPC.
before I understand what happened, captain B come to me, hit me and again "last chance" at this point
what going through my head is "oh well, at least I know one of my captains is loyal" when WOSH the same bodyguard come saving my skin again, kill the fuckers captain B and say "get up soldier, we have enemies to kill"

With the amount of other great games to choose from, your decision to implement loot boxes into Shadow of War has made me decide to spend my money elsewhere. It is my sincere hope that your game is the commercial failure it deserves to be.
To all of those who are still planning to buy the game. You reap what you sow. Remember the season passes and where we find ourselves now. Is this really what we are going to accept as a new normal for gaming? You can put a stop to it by refusing to support these kinds of practices by not buying the game. Would you reward a dog for bad behavior? I know I am not alone in this.

With the kinds of loot boxes that publishers and devs are now injecting into $60 so called AAA games, they may as well just make them free to play and be done with it. I complained as did others. I donated money to the game by buying gold. I doubt I'll ever use it tho i just wanted to show its an amazing game.i brought gold edition as mithral had sold out. I wouldn't go been able to anyway as I was a school boy. I'm in college now so can play game for a bit and love every second. U truly have addicted me. 9.5/10 best game (would say 10/10 but I got told never to do that Coz everything can be improved, I thought mordor was 10/10 now look at shadow of war.) How is it already 4 years since it came out?
I've put about 3 hours into the game. I have to say. It's fun as hell. I know the micro transactions aren't supposed to really kick in until Act 2, but so far it's not grindy at all and I have not been this immersed in an open-world since Skyrim tbh. The world is so full of things to do it's ridiculous and the gameplay is knocked up and even better than the first. It sucks that it has micro transactions in the first place, but I would urge people to buy the game, just not the micro transactions.
Careful. Using common sense around these parts is seen as forbidden. You're supposed to hate the game if you are thinking of the good of the industry
Schinak Lol, this is true. I hate WB for putting in Micro transactions, but honestly the way people are lashing out against the entire game is sickening
