Fun fact: a fan once ran into 2Pac at the mall and when he asked her what her favourite song of of his was, she said So Many Tears. He ended up telling her that it was the hardest song he has ever written (both in terms of how real the content was and the process of putting it into words).

_“Seen drive-by's takin' lives, little kids die."_
Man, that line always gets me especially after learning about the incident Pac had in Marin in ‘92. I believe it was The Outlawz that gave an interview a while back detailing the incident. Long story short, Pac had taken them on a trip to Marin city (a small unincorporated community in Cali where Pac first landed when he came out west). He wanted to go back to celebrate his new album, thank people who looked out for him when he was homeless etc. Unfortunately some entourage came by and didn’t see it that way. They thought he only came back to flex. An altercation started, escalated, and soon enough Pac and the Outlawz were running for their lives and getting shot at. A stray bullet ended up hitting and killing 6 year old Qa’id Walker-Teal as he was riding on his bike. Ballistic tests proved that the stray bullet didn't come from any of Pac or the Outlawz' guns but he never got over it. He settled with the family for 500k-1M in todays currency.
“I don't know how we made it out that day, but we did. It wasn't like we were just getting chased out Marin, they were out for _smoke_ that day. I remember we jumped in the Jeep and Mopreme was struggling to get it to turn on so Pac just turned around and covered us with his entire body. Bricks, rocks, all kinds of shit was getting thrown at his back and head but he was just set on making sure nothing happened to us. I mean we were just children back then you know? That night...Was the first time I had seen Pac cry since we were kids. The death of that little boy really shook him."

Pac will always forever be the greatest of all time. Wayne is #2 in my book and then there’s everyone else. It’s the way Pac made you feel his words on top of the delivery, lyrics, and production. His influence is unmatched. I remember in my honors English class back in 05-06, I used Pac’s lyrics for an assignment and got a 100 for it. Teacher was amazed at the words

Some people say 2pac was a lyricist. But what they don’t see is his lyrics are lyrics inside of lyrics. Who use his words to make you think about the previous verse throughout the whole song. Some rappers do it but not on a consistent basis. After a few verses they normally change up or switch subjects. PAC write songs as if he’s writing a book. Very descriptive. If he was walking on a normal road. He could convince you that road could lead you to paradise. Don’t think he’d ever had writers block. Because he put his heart in to every song. He had me screaming west side and I’m from the east coast lol. Most of other rappers are like watching science fiction movies. Their movies might be good but not real. Most of PAC is based on a true story or in fact a true story. Most Oscar’s won or up for nominations are mostly based on true stories. My point is PAC gave you us Oscars all the time accept his work won’t a performance. Don’t have to agree with me. It really up for debate. I don’t go back in forth on whose the greatest of all time. I did when I was younger but then I realized when something is so easy to see. It’s hard to make a blind man see. But if he get a chance to see the light it a change his whole look of the world. So people that don’t get PAC. It’s their lost and they missed out. I have no envy against them only pity for them

CHALKLINE...which represents the actual chalkline drawn around bodies by police to identify the position of the body in death. However, I think it also represents a line of drugs...hence the "getting high" reference. "Broken-hearted as I glance at the chalk line, getting high"...please note that it doesn't say "I'm getting high", so I believe the "getting high" is a double entendre...the body count is getting high and the other is the general reference to a line of drugs.

I remember literally crying the first time I heard this song. As someone who personally suffers with PTSD, this sounds eerily similar to my own thought processes back in the day. If only we could all go back in time and give Pac one big hug. He always gave so much of himself, yet no one was ever there to reciprocate half the amount. It's truly audacious how anyone could turn around and wonder why he became so angry and self-destructive.

The mad thing about breaking down Tupac songs is the guy's work ethic. We can wax lyrical on his poety and verse writing skills, but the guy wrote most of his tracks in record time, completing three tracks a day most days he went into the recording studio. Think I remember seeing that he recorded about 150 songs during the final year of his life. So, to think that he could construct songs this well, with such ease and deep meaning, is mindboggling. The guy was a genius workahloic.

I just discovered your Channel last night . I was on my Tupac shit again lately. I knew about reaction videos but didn't watch them so much. I usually just read comments on RUclips. I saw some other reaction videos but gravitated to yours because I like your passion about it and how you really try to understand it. Without getting too into it I was a big Tupac fan as a kid. Was a big part of my child hood. I watched all of that play out in real time. I used to see him in my neighborhood but never knew or believed it was him. I just thought it was someone who looked like him but I found out later he was living in my neighborhood in Stone Mountain Georgia at that time. He died when I was about 15 years old and it was devastating. Anyway there are tons of keywords that you are missing. Not your fault. But I could maybe throw some corrections your way every now and then. I actually have thought about having some kind of hip hop class Breaking Down lyrics and their actual meanings from the streets and that time period. I always seemed to understand and get even the smallest clever things that even a lot of my friends didn't pick up on. By the way this is the same guy that told you about the chalk line from Shed So Many Tears. Just my other account

P.S. Shock G, who produced this song, compared Tupac's cadence to MLK. It's an interesting point: ruclips.net/user/shortsVfMCh74OAW4

Tupac’s black panther influence from his mom and the recently passed Mutulu, and his soulfulness when delivering lines, it’s always like listening to the old speeches by MLK or Malcolm X… like there’s centuries of black struggle behind every word… Tupac is just straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
