The end of the video is so incredibly genius to me, but nobody ever comments on it. That family sitting in their little glass house just oblivious to all the issues (probably while being judgmental) while everyone else is on the outside looking in on them (wondering what THAT must be like also) I just love how thought provoking and real it is. I honestly never noticed that part. I’d known the song long before the video, and never really played close attention to the video. This was a great song that has withstood the test of time. I was almost 40 when this came out and was impressed at the time that this young guy spoke so much truth. I am 62 now, and every word is still relevant in our society. It was the same when I was 20, and when I was born. Only now, with news and images at our fingertips, do we think these issues are new. It is just a continuous stream of history repeating itself, except the distance between the "haves" and the "have nots" grows more disproportionately.

That's amazing~ I am so happy for you both!! My mom was adopted and really lucked out with being adopted by my grandparents~ they were fantastic parents and they adored her. My grandfather gave her her biological mother's info when she was still a teen, but my mom never had a desire to connect with her~ she always felt that she ended up with exactly the parents God wanted her to, and she was 100% satisfied with His choice. My mom passed away a year ago tomorrow at age 91. She gave my sisters and I her "bio" info in case we ever wanted to explore that, but we feel the same way she did. I believe when we get to Heaven we'll be able to make those connections. I wish you all the best and pray it continues to be transformative for both you, and your daughter~ God Bless 🙏

I've been there. I hope things improve for you. Hang in there, do what you need to. Don't pay any attention to the snobs, you earned the help you're trying to get. It'll work out.

Great song! This song always hit me when it came on the radio. Reminds us to show more compassion and less judgement.

I fell in love with this song when it first came out. The combination of the message and the way he just tells it like it is . . yeah . . Powerful
Next : Santana Featuring Everlast : Put your Lights On . . .

I think the ending is so poignant, yet rarely talked about. The seemingly perfect, happy family oblivious to the struggles around them. But also, behind glass, like a museum display, rare and untouchable, but longed for by the crowd outside.
    He has some excellent songs.

These are human issues. They weren't new 25 years ago and they weren't new in 1925. These have been topics of discussion since the beginning of time.

I was just thinking the same thing. The song is not "ahead of its time", it's Timeless.

    I like the new setup.
    I love this song.
    So massively relevant today.
I'm sorry that you and your wife have dealt with that loss.
Why isn't this a simple concept for so many people?
    Don't judge someone's path.
Get to know them and help them up and not look down on them.

Oh Jesus. I didn’t know that about you and your wife. My brother and his wife had 3 stillborn before they had their son. And my nephew is one of the amazing kids I’ve ever met. I’m so glad for you and your beautiful family. Love you my friend

All his acoustic stuff is awesome, especially his Life Acoustic album. He does an acoustic version of Jump Around. I highly suggest check out more of his work after House of Pain. Keep up the good work BP!
