    great info. sorted my problem but the custom sidebar was not compatible with Gutenberg so used the classic sidebar plug in instead and fixed the problem cheers.

    Thanks but i cant find the way to place a new custom sidebar on the right of my website, i have tried widget clone and custom sidebar, i created the sidebar but cant put the new sidebar on hte right side of main page to make it look symmetrical, thanks

      you need to go to the customise area and click sidebars it will let you place a sidebar left, or right of the page.

    When I go to customize>Widgets, it only shows me the footers. There's no "blog sidebar"... how do you turn that on?

      I'm encountering the same situation. I think for this instance, we would need to purchase a Premium Theme that has built in side bars

    The title is misleading. This deals with blog sidebars, not website sidebars.

      This deals with sidebars in WordPres, a CMS used in 455 million websites. Yes, a majority are blogs, but not all. Therefore, this title is accurate since it's about WordPress CMS.
