  • In part 5 of “Deported,” the 1Love delegation meets with the Cambodian government’s task force to review the repatriation agreement and learn that the government has requested the U.S. halt deportations until the agreement can be reviewed.
“Deported,” created by Sahra V. Nguyen, is a five-part documentary series on “NBC Asian America Presents…” that follows the global movement to end the deportation of Cambodian refugees from the United States. Over the course of the documentary, advocates made urgent appeals to the United Nations and traveled to Cambodia to sit down at the table with representatives of the Cambodian government.

DUI should be a federal felony with 5 years prison and $100,000 fine + lifetime ban from driving.
      Its road terrorism.

Its not about where they are from.
Its about the laws of USA.
There are rules for LEGAL immigration.
One of those rules is: No felonies.
Do the crime... and you have to accept the punishment.
For legal immigrants, a felony makes you eligible for deportation.
These are FELONS who got deported for cause.
      No sympathy for the felons.

Its certainly a broken system somewhere, I hope some day there will an answer. Education is the main focus. I dont think any of these guys has any ideas that they would ever come this point. Most of us came here with the same reason. Most of us got thrown into a rough neighborhood in America "the hood"...most of us didn't have the full understanding of GREEN CARD. Most Cambodian households never turn on the local news. I'm not asking you forget your own culture and race, but it's a good practice if you do what the romans do when you in Rome. Just saying..

You came to America for a better life and a chance at freedom yet you treat America as it was nothing. You violate her laws and you spit on the faces of every soldier who died to keep and create this freedom. You knew you was a refugee living in a foreign land yet you took it for granted. Now you screaming its wrong to take away your family and you way of living. Think if all the other immigrants living the American dream because they embraced all that comes with it and do not forsake it... Freedom didnt come free. People died for this. Families forever torn away from their love ones so that their love ones can go to war to ensure this country keeps its freedom

What happen to those other races from previous early immigration history which were and are from European countries and South American countries, Middle Eastern countries, don’t they get the same treatment if their off springs and grand children are committing crimes, shouldn’t they receive the same deportation injustice packages as well.

if you commit a crime and you pay for it and did you time they should leave you alone, this is a racist system.. and my question is this if you live all you life in that country im sure you did pay social security, why don't you ask for that money once you are deported and that can be saving money for you to starting a new life with a business in you country,

I feel sorry for this man who was deported to Cambodia... but if he is an illegal alien who has violated U.S. laws..he is subject to US laws, just like the rest of Americans, and is vulnerable to whatever immigratiom laws that can be applied. These poor folks are overlooking the fact that one must enter a country LEGALLY so they have legal "power" argue their case. To simply say it is "wrong" because they feel it, will just not work in this sdministrstion. The length of time one stays in a given place does not change his or her status. It makes it worse if they become public menace or violate laws and are found by authorities. Why would illegal law violaters feel they have been "wronged"? They should have lived under the radar...

I am far from racist but I would like to express, that of course, it appears to be easy to complain their injustice - especially when they never compare this to the thousands of other people, that didn't commit crimes and actually took the time & money to "legally" obtain Citizenship to enter another country. It is easy to complain how they are separated from their families- but why aren't we ever hearing these spouses who supposingly love them - are not attempting to marry them in their countries and obtain their Citizenship? 🤔

    • @LewisC-ss5jq

When did you white people ask our Native American tribes for “legal permission” to come to North America? When did we grant you white people permission?

Why is it that there are alot of perfect US citizens in the comment section that never did anything wrong in their life? Some people need to understand that these people are not illegal. They were refugees from a war torn country that the USA was involved. So much hate and ignorant people here.
