Blues are the songs from the heart, the pain, the happiness and the two of them combined take you on a journey within on a far deeper level. The Queen of the Blues, and the master of the guitar make the song cry from the heart like no other.
Beth’s early life has been a tough go. Her whole body sings these songs and you can feel the pain she’s lived. Her and Joe B together are a magical pair.
Derek B Agree wholeheartedly. She is a great blues singer, at least in part, because she has lived them. And she is not afraid to share her past, be it type 1 bipolar, alcoholism or drug use. Thankfully she is clean now and singing better than ever.
@@waynetitus4507 - I agree Wayne... The unusual thing about this pair is that while Beth has suffered these things; Joe is only a casual drinker, has never touched drugs. Joe has led a bit of a dream life, playing the guitar since he was 4 years old, opening for B.B. King when he was 12 years old, his last 22 albums have gone to #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts, and he is considered by peers and fans as the greatest living Blues/Rock guitarist on earth... These differences in their musical journeys blend to perfection. Together they are IMHO the best Blues Singer/Guitarist combo in the business.
I agree completely, Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart together they complement each other. Joe is one of the most awesome guitarists I've ever heard. He opened for BB King when Joe was only 12 years old.
I am in Rome, Italy and I listen to Beth every day. I know this piece and I keep listening to it and watch the video several times a day. She makes me crazy, cry, laugh , her voice is crazy Thank you for showing this beautiful piece.
She's singing it like she was just there-- She was. Blues isn't technique but experience. Hart's voice and Bonamassa's band are a perfect complement to each other. It can not be duplicated.
Powerful voice .....she has earned her stripes.....has been down way down and came out the other side thank god because this woman is horrendously underappreciated. Those who know .....know.....Joplin...James....Franklin ....she is right there with them. She's probably one of the best female vocalists in the past 20 years. Her and Joe are always great together 🔥
Oh, Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart - now that's a pair! So many good songs to recommend, can't even decide from where to begin! Honestly, anything, everything they've done and do is absolutely amazing. Joe Bonamassa on his own is absolutely amazing and Beth Hart on her own is also absolutely amazing, but when these two get together... Magic happens.
Two of the very best at what they do. Every bit of their heart and soul goes into the music…The two of them together, an amazing pair of artists. Incomparable.
So glad you did this one, Beth! Beth Hart fully commits to every song she does, and between her awesomely, unique voice, audience involvement, and interpretive style, she just nails it every time! What a great performer!!
The guts and gravel of not only Beth's singing but of Joe's git are gut wrenching....especially for someone who lived this song...and fell in love with Joe when he was 14...talent multiplied by 2....thousand.
Beth and Joe together is a truly magical combination. Her vocal is like this warm massage for your ears, but there's real power and grit to go with it.
Beth Hart is my favorite blues singer by far. No one sells the song and is more believable than Beth. Try "Am I The One" or A Change Is Gonna Come". They are amazing songs.
Oh cool. I think this was one of my recommendations, even if others have gone there too. NOBODY anywhere has a voice quite like Beth Hart. And Bonamassa just adds extra greatness on top of that. You should definitely revisit Beth at some point too. Every performance is stellar.
Beth Hart one of the best blues vocalist in history - sometimes just watch and enjoy without stopping. The end you stopped at the highlight of her performance..
One of my all time fav songs by two of my fav artists covered by a top fav vocal coach ... life is so good ... Here’s the deal re the guitar solo - think of it as another voice crying in the same vein as the vocalist ... then you can really appreciate both Beth and Joe as a true duet complimenting each other just as you understand a voice to be an instrument ... great vid - all the feels.
Same show....... ruclips.net/video/jM6_wOCdD5I/видео.html - Whole Lotta Love. Girl was in rare form that night. I think the entire audience took a cigarette break after that song.
Welcome to the world of Beth Hart. Thanks for playing Beth and Joe You can listen to almost anything by this pair and be amazed. I do have to agree that "Am I the One" live at Paradiso and "Caught Out in the Rain" Live from Royal Albert Hall may have even more emotion ! P.S. Not sure about those 7 dislikes lol
The whole group is a bunch of top tier session performers. That gives them these people the ability to gel as they seem to have worked with each other for years and not days.
Everything Beth adds with her voice. Emotion, control ,expression. ,Joes solo counters that with feeling expressed in notes. The two are masters of their craft and leave you in no doubt that they are totally committed to the idea behind the song ,even if they would rather have a pizza. They are a sublime combo.
You are watching and listening to one of the most incredible collaborations between two of the best blues artists alive. Beth is deeply soulful and she feels every note. Beth draws the audience in with her voice. Joe is a world renowned blues guitarist and singer. He gives his guitar a voice just as the greatest guitarists in history were capable of doing. Do yourself and your viewers a favor and don’t talk through his solos. It’s a buzz kill when you do that.
Indeed, never ever talk through a guitar solo, unless you are capable of explaining the technical details and that is what the video is about. Beth's singing is one part of the emotion in the song, Joe brings the other part and the two combined make it an incredible powerful performance. Just sit back, relax and let the guitar overwhelm you. Whatever you want to say can wait until the song is finished or when Beth starts to sing again.
Beth is my all-time idol. Have her face tattooed on my arm. Still sends chills every time I hear her. I actually prefer her solo stuff to this but anything she touches is just amazing.
If you have ever had your heart broken and you don't ache when you hear this song, there's a good chance you don't have a soul. Beautiful, soulful, poignant, heartfelt, emotional, sincere, authentic and ultimately beautiful.
Wow!!! Two Beths in one!!! THANKS!!! Beth has had some serious problems in her life and has fought to stay alive and singing. The entirety of her emotional struggle seems to be boiling up inside of her and that is definitely what you hear the instant she opens her mouth! Talking about sadness, have a listen to “Leave the Light On,” it might break your soul a little. 😥
Great video and even better reaction! That's what I was waiting for! The look on your face as soon as Beth started singing! Her tone instantly grabs everybody's full attention! I think she stands alone among blues singers! I'd love to hear a Joe Bonamassa and Beth Roars collaboration! Check out Joe's acoustic set featuring "Only" Joe and Tina Guo, a Cello powerhouse! ~ (Joe Bonamassa & Tina Guo - "Woke Up Dreaming" - Live From Carnegie Hall: An Acoustic Evening)
Both Beth and Joe are fantastic artists, but together the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. I love the way Joe is able to explore the guitar parts without the burden of singing.
Beth is technically a fantastic singer, but it's the soul and emotion that she puts into her performances that puts her miles above anyone else around now - or anyone else ever.
She was born for the blues. If sensuality has a voice, it’s her!!! Why are you analyzing the lyrics? It’s the freaking blues! It’s about pain! You can not find fault in her.
The greatest combination in (blues-)rock-music in the last decades: Joe Bonamssa, the master of blues guitar (maybe the the best blues guitarist alive) and the fantastic Beth Hart - for me the best voice in blues-rock. I saw Beeth Hart live two weeks ago and it was really, really fantastic! She was the first singing BETH I fell in love with, years ago - for about six months now there's a second one... ;-)
We saw Beth sing with Jeff Beck, had no idea who was in his current band. We heard the soundcheck from the parking lot and my thought was "Wow, who's the incredible black woman he has singing with him?" So soulful and of course she killed that night.
You should actually check out Mr. Bonamassa's singing (I recommend "Stop!"), he's quite an amazing singer and godlike composer, his last album is a masterpiece. And he was pretty terrible at these things in his first album, it's amazing how much he has improved over the years. The man is an inspiration for anyone how thinks they can't learn.
@@swinetrek Yeah he's one of those that just doesn't translate to the studio for whatever reason. But people, if you get the chance to see him live, take it. He puts on one hell of a good show.
wingracer 16 - I have seen Joe live several times now. I’m convinced he’s not human. No human can move their hands on a guitar like he does. He puts on an amazing show and gives you more than your money’s worth.
I know that you are a vocal coach, but I was surprised that you had almost nothing to say about Joe's guitar solo. It mirrored Beth's intensity and built to an amazing climax. I know several people who have been brought to tears by it. It must be one of the best blues solos I have ever heard. You don't have to know a lot about guitars to appreciate it. You simply have to look at the expression on Joe's face and FEEL it.
Rewatching this for the umpteenth time. Love Beth Hart’s voice and control!!! Think I’ve seen the Paradiso show, but my favourite is Mama! @Beth Roars. Please react to more Beth Hart!!! And thank you for all you do!!!
I won't disagree, but have you ever heard Judy Henske? Wade in the Water or Til the Real Thing Comes Along. Judy has the power and the vibrato like Beth does. Give her a listen when you have a chance. ✌️
Love Beth. Love your analysis. My favorite female vocal in the blues genre is her performance of "I Wanna Know You" from the album "Les Paul & Friends." Her vocal is not just singing, but channeling some otherworldly emotional power through her voice...I can't really explain it, you just have to hear it for yourself. Also, Neal Schon's guitar work is just as amazing. I hope you'll get a chance to listen to it sometime, even if you don't do a video on it..
Hello Beth, If you want to get a little glimpse inside her head to see where all that emotion comes from, watch her video 'I'll leave the light on" Beth Hart Live at the Royal Albert Hall
Saw her at a blues festival in Maryland. The drop the mic trick isn't a trick. She sings really loudly. She dropped the mic and I could still hear her, above the PA, holding a long note. She's like a more talented, female Tom Jones with her mic destroying abilities. She's absolutely incredible. This whole concert (or album, if you'd rather) is worth your time. Actually, everything. Everything of hers is worth a listen.
You should react to ANY Beth Hart or Joe Bonamassa video you can find. Joe is widely recognized as being a guitar savant -- having started playing when he was only FOUR YEARS OLD! He began performing at 12, opening for BB King. And Beth's voice is just amazing.

One of the most genuinely powerful and emotional vocalists you will ever hear.
Her voice becomes her instrument and his guitar becomes his voice. Together they weave a tale and take us along for the ride! ❤️❤️❤️
Beth Hart's rendition of "Nutbush City Limits" is epic.
Great quote.
And when you are onboard, there's no way back. You got to ride along.
Blues are the songs from the heart, the pain, the happiness and the two of them combined take you on a journey within on a far deeper level. The Queen of the Blues, and the master of the guitar make the song cry from the heart like no other.
Very nicely put.

Another great Beth and Joe song is I'll Take Care Of You. Or you could try her solo on Caught Out In The Rain (Live from Royal Albert Hall).

Wow what a nice surprise to see you do this one! Also like her and JB doing I'll Take Care of You live.
8:55pm Beth Hart is unbelieveable singer...you must see her live...you will never forget it.❤😊
I just stumbled with this record months ago and found this song to be the best. I didn't know the singer but found her amazing.
Such an amazing performance!!! That guitar solo and her singing right after...!

I liked it at 6:36 when you said oooooh, come over here :-) great reaction girl, hugs...and wow, what a great guitar player just wow
Blues its always SAD and its really got all the meaning they say my favorite style of music
and btw my favorite guitarrist its bonamassa
It's not always sad. Something's Got a Hold On Me by Etta James is cheery.
