There seems to be a question. If two people, learning the same gemara, get different rewards… how can we say that just because Nebuchadnezzar took three steps to serve Hashem and got a reward of 70 years of ruling the world, that we get the same reward for every three steps that we take to serve Hashem? Perhaps it is easier for us to take three steps to honor Hashem than it is for Nebuchadnezzar. Therefore, we would be deserving of a lesser reward. Incredible mussar , thank you :)
In the time of Nebuchadnezzar, there was no Torah or those other books. That's why he was rewarded for it. Than those that already born in the time there is Torah. And what they did was recorded in Torah for everybody to read thus promoting HaShem. Like all the Psalms of King David. When he wrote it, he was the first one who did it.
