I am 100% down for a full playthrough of this game with the one and only angor. I also used to be obsessed with this game growing up but I would always hit a point in which it felt as though there was nothing left to do or either that or it got corrupted for me or something
This was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE game for the PlayStation, and I loved the sequel as well! I've always hoped they would come out with a third one, and I was so disappointed they never did. I actually decided to go back and beat them both only a couple of years ago, for nostalgia, and it still remains an absolutely fantastic game, and integral part of my childhood! PS. I'd totally watch a playthrough of this, and Tomba 2! Even if it's just a stream of it, it would be killer!
This is not a game I expected Tom to play but I'm here for it. Absolutely loved this game as a kid. It's a surprisingly deep game with great metroidvania vibes.
WOW! This is such a weird coincidence, I was _just_ reminiscing about a weird game that I played when I was a kid but for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of it! And here we are a couple days later and my favorite creator has a video on it! 🤯
The bucket is for collecting water in the forest with those spider-things and see-saws. The water bucket gets used on the fire in the 100-Flowers Forest where there's a napping pig. You bring the item in the fire to the lady dwarf in pink at the entrance to the town. You're welcome. ;) When my family had the demo disk, we played it over and over again. We replayed it mainly for just that mission's payoff.
You should use your power attack on the harmonica like things, and this might just be a personal preference, but collect all the leaf flies before defeating the pig, it at least feels easier to find them before the leafs disappear.
I would love to see more of this game, if you are interested in making more content from it. It's is so genuinely charming and filled with soul. At risk of sounding strange, I very much enjoy hearing you reminisce upon your past. It's a bit like hearing childhood stories from a friend you met in adulthood.
i.... we.... you..... i hecking loved this game. my disc was somehow bugged though so i always got stuck in the same place.... but wow... a remake.... gotta get this one
This is so amazing, Tom, I'm glad this game means as much to you as it did to me as a kid. Super excited I checked Steam one day and saw Tomba was about to re-release.
TOM! You gotta start fully pressing down every one of those springy orange grass things now or you'll regret it late game. Also you can get the baby pig pretty early if you have it run into the fart plant gas in the first area. The black figure with eyes is an ongoing hide and seek quest that lasts the whole game so also start that early. Unless you're not trying to 100% of course then just enjoy.
Always wanted this game, I played the demo endlessly but couldn't find it to get it. Very happy to hear it's out again! If the next game you play is Alundra it would break my brain as that is possibly my favourite game of all time (another old PS game that I doubt is available in a playable fashion).
I remember this game fondly. This abes odyssey, worms and the Hercules game 😄 later it was things like soul reaver and legacy of kain, I also remember jade cacoon 2, I dont think I ever sussed the first one but really enjoyed the second at the time, may of been on PS2?!
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1711 OOO, well it seems Tom did have some good tastes as a kid as this game is pretty very good indeed :D Plus, a level of goofiness I enjoy. I tell you with this, and World of Goo a few days ago, really getting some classical games :D God, the sprites are amazing, some really fantastic ones XD ha ha Really loving the animated cutscenes. Also, the style reminds me alot of Dragon Ball Z Although I am pretty sure they are named "Kokka" in reference to Cuckoo Birds, since they are like Reverse Cuckoos, I must say that I do enjoy Tom's reason better XD ha ha Well, gotta say, Baron is a fantastic name for a dog, buuuut Bongo > Baron This was indeed alot of fun, and really holds up :D would love to see more
I very much recall playing an exceptionally similar game on the PS1 way back when but for the life of me I can't recall what it was. It could have been Tomba but while the style is very familiar I just don't think it was.
if you go back to the beginning of the game. where you clear the fog / the house, you can go under (there is a door) and you can see a cool cutscene. i remember playing the demo on playstation (which is short), a shitton because i liked the game. this gets me back.. i was like 14... 21 years ago, jesus this does not make me younger does it ?
I played the ever-loving hell out of this when i was younger. This and 2... I can't remember which one had the mine cart thing, but that sucked. lol really fun games tho
Incredible game, there'sso much stuff to do! Loved this game as kid and still love it. Even went out of my way to purchase a new original copy because my dad gave mine away a couple years ago -.-"
it looks like he's using a spiky ball on a chain, isn't that actually a "morning star"? A "blackjack" would more like a cosh (i.e. a short, clubby weapon)
Oh, a youtuber I like is playing one of my childhood menories? What a treat! I remember this game fondly although I prefer part 2 with its hillariously lousy voice acting
I never played Tomba (or Tombi as it's called here in Europe), I only watched a friend play it once, but I played a shitload of Tombi 2. Never managed to 100% it, remember it being ridiculously hard (at least for a stupid little 10 year old who barely knew any English).
I am 100% down for a full playthrough of this game with the one and only angor. I also used to be obsessed with this game growing up but I would always hit a point in which it felt as though there was nothing left to do or either that or it got corrupted for me or something
I am all here for Tom's maximum PS1 nostalgia-fueled game choices.
I need more of this. Please algo gods, let Tom play this all the way through!
This was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE game for the PlayStation, and I loved the sequel as well! I've always hoped they would come out with a third one, and I was so disappointed they never did. These games are so underrated! I do a playthrough of Tomba Two from time to time myself, and the nostalgia hits every time
I would like to second that lets play. Tom just unlock a core memory in my "Too old to be watching lets plays" head.
Holy shit it's Tomba! Never thought I'd see this game again
This is not a game I expected Tom to play but I'm here for it. Absolutely loved this game as a kid. It's a surprisingly deep game with great metroidvania vibes.
Secretly this was baby toms favorite game because the main character was also named Tom
Not secretly, he mentioned it.
Yeah but tomba doesnt know that, dont tell em
WOW! This is such a weird coincidence, I was _just_ reminiscing about a weird game that I played when I was a kid but for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of it! And here we are a couple days later and my favorite creator has a video on it! 🤯
Holy crap. I haven't thought about this game in years. What a treat. Thank you.
Man I never owned Tomba but I had a Demo Disc that had it on there and I played THAT a lot. I always wanted this game ;---;
Must of played that demo couple a hundred times.. now let's see what the full game has to offer ^^
Tomba and Pandemonium! were two of my guilty pleasure PS1 games.
Nothing guilty about these pleasures! They are both Solid jump&run games!
I knew i liked you for a reason Tom aside from the normal games you play tomba is my absolute favorite of all time
The bucket is for collecting water in the forest with those spider-things and see-saws. The water bucket gets used on the fire in the 100-Flowers Forest where there's a napping pig. Oh man, I totally forgot about this game, I freaking loooooved this as a kid!
Just got it yesterday and finished this morning… i have never been this happy playing a game since i was 10 ❤
You should use your power attack on the harmonica like things, and this might just be a personal preference, but collect all the leaf flies before defeating the pig, it at least feels easier to find them before the leafs disappear.
I had a demo of this game on PS1 and never got to play the whole thing, I remember loving it.
Man, I remember playing a ton of this and Grandia on the PS1 and Cosmo and Commander Keen on the PC. Good times, this was a great nostalgia trip!
This is amazing, Tomba is such a great game. It always suprises me when people talk about it
I would love to see more of this game, if you are interested in making more content from it. It's is so genuinely charming and filled with soul. At risk of sounding strange, I very much enjoy hearing you reminisce upon your past. It's a bit like hearing childhood stories from a friend you met in adulthood.
Would definitely watch more of this
I need more of this in my life, loved this game
Thank you for reminding me of this game, I had forgotten what its name was!
i.... we.... you..... i hecking loved this game. my disc was somehow bugged though so i always got stuck in the same place.... but wow... a remake.... gotta get this one

PAL version is TOMBI
but the game start with TOMBA title.

In germany and Austria as well. It will always be Tombi to me
Was there an actual point to the name change on this title?
@@nagrom777 no Idea, honestly. I don't even know which version is supposed to be the real name. It will always be Tombi to me though!
This is so amazing, Tom, I'm glad this game means as much to you as it did to me as a kid. Super excited I checked Steam one day and saw Tomba was about to re-release.
holy shit this is some insane nostalgia whiplash, i loved this but never got very far!
Good ol' 2.5D platformer game. Looks fun!

I only ever played this as a demo on the ps1, but damned if I didn't play the hell out of it. Please do the whole game, Tom!
This is literally my favourite game and not enough people talk about it!
so many good soundbytes. "kokka eggs", "give me your eggs", "coma pigs".
This game is amazing, I would love to see the whole series!
Oh my god I remember this game! I completely forgot about it, such memories! Just the music is such nostalgia!
NO WAY! THIS SERIES WAS MY FAVORITE AS A KID!

Playthrough! 🤗 I loved this game as a kid, but never got very far 😅
I think I had a demo of this and loved it. You unlocked a memory!
Bro, 2 years ago i went on a google speed for this game as i played it in my childhood and found a new patent register so i knew this was comming
Would love to see more of this! Maybe a members series?
This was so much fun to play back in the day & the remake is just perfect. I hope it does well enough to get them to do Tomba 2.
A blast from the past
I remember wanting to play this game when it came out in middle school! I never actually got to play it though.
Oh shit, it actually got re-released? This was one of those things I just always expected to be a pipe dream.
FULL PLAYTHROUGH PLEASE!
Always wanted this game, I played the demo endlessly but couldn't find it to get it. Very happy to hear it's out again! One of my favourite games on the PlayStation
Yes! I have spent most of the last week playing this! They're also remaking the second game too!
I remember this game fondly. This abes odyssey, worms and the Hercules game 😄 later it was things like soul reaver and legacy of kain, I also remember jade cacoon 2, I dont think I ever sussed the first one but really enjoyed the second at the time, may of been on PS2?!

oh my i thought i had made this game up in my head. Super nostalgia
Thanks for sharing this with us Tom! My nostalgic game would have to be Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy. Absolutely great game for PS2.
Rap group The Arsonists sampled an early track in this game. Deece album too.
The payoff on feeding the monkey... 🫡
Oh hell yeah! I am HERE for the retro gaming arc
With nostalgia happening we need a play through👍
No way this just gave me flashbacks
I very much recall playing an exceptionally similar game on the PS1 way back when but for the life of me I can't recall what it was. It could have been Tomba but while the style is very familiar I just don't think it was.
Klonoa or Pandemonium, perhaps?
Alright, I'm invested. when is the rest coming out?
It is so weird, I have very distinct memories of this game, but 0 memories of playing any of it. Maybe I had a demo of it?
Holy shit this was the game! I had forgotten what it was except for some random details! This game frustrated me to no end back then.
Omg i freaking love tomba
this game was so good back then!
I loved this game!
I wanna watch the adventures of Tom and Tomba!
the music in this game was great
Now to wait for Tomba 2...
Angoryba Tomba
if you go back to the beginning of the game. where you clear the fog / the house, you can go under (there is a door) and you can see a cool cutscene.

Omlll I forgot about this game!! Tom! Thank you
love this :D part of my old nostalgic youth :D
not the usual cup of tea for the channel, but i very much enjoyed it! kinda reminds me of Adventure Island or Joe & Mac...
using my mega-deduction powers, me thinks the blue pig is quite close.
this game seems like a trip.
Please make it a series 🙏
I was expecting all the comments to be about the infamous speed run
8 year old me remembers playing this on a PS1 demo disk my brother stole from Block-Buster
YES!!! I REMEMBER THIS GAME :D
Oh, a youtuber I like is playing one of my childhood menories? What a treat! I remember this game fondly although I prefer part 2 with its hillariously lousy voice acting
