The only thing I caN say is that all of my real life friends that played the game from the beginning have stopped playing afk arena and afk journey. A lot of guilds are dead as well.
It's literally unfixable. The fact they literally made a different game where the fix is just removing all the trash shows it. They were just unable to fix AFK Arena.
If you click on your avatar in-game and then navigate to the settings tab , there is a "Switch version" button. From there you can change to the companions game version (of course only if your country is designated as a test region). In essence, it looks exactly like AFK Arena, although it creates pretty much a fresh account for you, so I didn't really bother testing it that much. Interestingly, I also installed AFK Arena on an Android device and logged in with Google account, that previously never had the game installed (so no backup copy on Google Drive for user data etc) - the game launched in the "companions" mode for me. I wonder if they will start pushing the companions mode over the standard one for future players - if they do, new player base will naturally decline over the time.
Doesnt seem like even the devs know what this is supposed to be. Not starting over in a game that looks the same just with more qol tho thats for sure. They could at least make a pc client.
@@erlanggahadinata5543 I don't think Companions is planned to be the same game. A different approach is more likely for it. It will be ruined in a couple of years, I know that but still, for now, it's too good to be true. Who knew I'd even prefer AFK Arena with half of its content removed and a couple of good features over the trash we have nowadays. I guess if a room has too much trash and you have money, better to buy a new room and sell it from the start rather than decorate the ruined one more and more while it's breaking. Idk if this makes sense.
You forget one important thing: they'll reset your 5 years progression, VIP, etc..... To play the same game, but fixed??? I stoped IDLE Heroes to go to AFK Arena. If I stop AFK Arena, no way I stay with Lilith. They've got to much money compared to what they are "unable" to fix now.

I just ironise "+ starting back to zero in every aspect". I would have prefered the actual game being fixed/enhanced instead of a new similar game we need to strat back from zero.
why will companions replace the classics and because of the stability and pleasant past there are no characters unbalanced like dragons and reborn, I personally switched to companions and because the characters have become more interesting than in the classics where they are already useless.

This game is actually really good. They just removed all the hated trash from AFK Arena and added new cool things.
They removed it so they can release it later. They basicly just try to resell afk arena
