this was me and my other half when we lost our child. we became cold and dark. the pain was too much, but now I am finding myself again. And never looking back, but never forgetting.
I remember these days and this music in someway helped me through many different emotions now that I look back. I miss the early and mid 2000s alternative rock. I've went through the grunge error thinking music will never be the same. We have lost Kurt, Scott, Chester, and Chris. Hope someone else can relate to the music scene that helped a lot of us get through good times and bad times.

I can't say exactly what he is talking about because songs have different meanings for everyone, however, in the context of both of those songs it sounds like you want to be friends but he wants to be much more. He can't get enough of you (Contagious) but since you haven't given him the time of day (or maybe he never tried, just saying) you are now the black rose that he will distance himself from so that your thorns dont stick him. BTW, just friends is not a possibility at this point.
Although I am not a big fan of Justin Bieber's music he does have some talent. I think there will always be someone to criticize any new artist and hate certain types of music. I am very open minded when it comes to music. I think that all music has its own meaning and style. There is no need to criticize someone due to the fact that they made it in the music business, no matter how much you dislike them, They are just trying to please their fans and do what they love; make music.
