They told me my cockatiel is 3 months old. When I brought him home, he did not eat or move or do anything for 3 whole days. Now he's eating, thank God and whisles once in a while. I let him hear cockatiel sounds and songs on my cel. Does this really help. His name is Taupey.(Toe- pee) Taupe like the color. His crest is NEVER down. Everyday I go into a room with all the windows shut and dior closed away from ny 3 dogs and I take him out of his cage so he can move around a bit, but he doesn't want to bond with me. WHY?😭
some birds have the most difficult personality. you have to earn his trust. It may take time to form a bond of trust between you. Try to spend as much time as possible close to him, talk to him so he gets used to your voice, avoid sudden movements... offer foods that he likes in your hand... and see if, little by little, he doesn't become less skittish. depending on the bird it may take more or less to build this relationship. And respect your bird's personality because some, despite liking the owner, do not allow themselves to be touched.
