Excellent video--have had to do this several times with an EX3400 but was doing it last night and all went well and got to the request system reboot and it never came back up. Not sure what went wrong; these 3400's are the bane of my existence.
Ya, I don't understand why others had such weak instructions. I am very good with Windows products but weak with Juniper and it frustrated me so much I thought a COMPLETE set of instructions would be helpful to everyone... including me in the future :) Glad you liked it.
Just a quick tip. Cleanup /var/log directory also. Otherwise you will likely get the same space error. rm -r /var/log/* this command would cleanup all the logs files which might prevent the flashing of a new firmware :)
Upgrade Path The general rule is that you should not skip more than two consecutive major releases. In the example below, we consider the upgrade from 18.3 to 20.3R3 and a patch update from 18.2R2.6 to 18.2R3-S8: From 18.1 to 20.3R3, there are the following major versions in between: 18.1.R3 - 18.2 - 18.3 - 18.4 - 19.1 - 19.2 - 19.3 - 19.4 - 20.1 - 20.2 - 20.3.R3 So the correct upgrade path would be: 18.1R3 → 18.4 → 19.3 → 20.2 → 20.3R3 For a patch update from 18.2R2.6 to 18.2R3-S8, a direct path can be followed since this would not skip any major releases.

Great step by step upgrade. Best one on youtube.
Great video, this is exactly what I needed.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for your video. Details are awesome.

From VietNam. Thanks a lot
Even after I do the cleanup I get the error their is insufficient space
i couldn't find my usb , when type ls /dev/d* it shows /dev/da1
where can i downlaod the firmware without juniper account?
I followed your every step as I upgraded to the latest version. It still indicates that there is not enough space. Juniper may not be a good choice
I need to downgrade an ex 3300 from 15.1 to 12.3 would the process be the same?
Does it work with upgrade from 15.1 to the latest?
