Thank you for the video Timmy! I recently did this job myself on my 200 series and found it interesting to watch how you tackled it. I really appreciated your using the pry bar technique on the lip of the inner half of the CV to drive it back into the differential - I had a lot of trouble with this. I managed to keep my UCA, speed/ABS sensors and rotor housing bolted together by manipulating the CV back and rotor housing forward and up to free the outer spline of the CV from the rotor housing. I was then able to tie all of that housing up somewhere high in the wheel arch - maybe this saved me some time? Although I'm not sure if there any specific differences between the Lx470 and the 200 series. I really enjoyed watching this video and seeing how you did this job - it was extremely helpful and will use your techniques in the future. Especially your German torque spec of 'gud 'n' tight' ;) Many thanks! Sam. Sydney, Australia.
I almost did this job last year for my Tundra, but I noticed that one of the clamps wasn’t holding the grease in so I just replaced the clamp with another and so far no more grease is coming out so I think I’m good for now. 👍
Great video man, thanks! This helped me with the reboot process. I followed your video and used the brown grease for the outer joint and the black grease for the inner joint. Several folks on the forums say it should be opposite though and now I'm wondering who is right? Haha hopefully it doesn't make much of a difference either way but I'm curious what your thoughts are on it. Thanks!
Where are you getting $114 from? The reboot kit we link in the video description sells for $85 on Ebay. We provide part numbers so people have the opportunity to do their own parts search and buy from their preferred seller. Also, here's a suggestion, read your comment before hitting send. You said "Board Kit" which doesn't make sense, but I assumed you meant to say "Boot Kit".
@TimmyTheToolman cool man, that link charges $30 in shipping, so maybe...I dunno read that...? I'm not arguing with you dude I was just thinking there was a difference in the ebay link YOU chose to use. Perhaps it was more complete or something. Thanks.
@@BigBluePile I didn't think you were arguing with me. I'm just trying to understand your comment. I looked at the Ebay link and it says shipping is free, so I don't get where you're seeing $30 for shipping,.
@@TimmyTheToolman when I click your link it shows the shipping cost. If I copy the item number into my ebay app it shows free shipping. That's bonkers.

@MrCalifornia1234 I think Vincent could have gotten away with a clamp replacement, too, but then we wouldn't have this video.
