Yunica reaches the apex of the Tower's final floor; there, she finds Kishgal waiting for her. The warrior revels in the hardened Yunica, claiming the value of the deaths she's faced making her stronger. Yunica counters Kishgal's concept of strength with her own, echoing her father's words and how they led to her accepting her own weaknesses to better herself.
Kishgal, interested by Yunica's notion of strength, reveals his demonic form, the madness he accepted to become strong. Her father's sword in hand, Yunica faces the battle-lusting Kishgal once more.

Like Epona, Kishgal uses all of his moves from his first encounter, the only difference being that the odds are now more stacked in your favor.
Kishgal will engage with numerous attacks, including a wave of ice shards that will catch lateral movement, a basic halberd strike, or an ice tornado if you jump near him during his down time. The main opening of his is when he shoots patterns of icicles across the ground. Unless he does a surprise X pattern, it is easy to jump behind him and attack him once or twice before firing a charged Phoenix Flame which will also destroy the icicles if aimed properly. If you're quick enough to chain Yunica's Lunge Attack into Phoenix Flame, you'll rack up damage rather quickly. Just don't be too greedy, as on top of attacking quickly afterwards he also has two counters should you keep attacking his shield.
On top of those, Kishgal will eventually start attacking more frequently. His spread ice shards in particular will become a bigger nuisance when combined with other attacks. For instance, if he shoots the delayed raining icicles then you have to keep running to dodge them, but if you jump on reflex to avoid the ice shards then you'll get tagged by the rain. The same can also be said for his ice dragons, which need to be dodged a certain way that can be hindered by either the icicle rain or the ice shards. For these cases, it's always handy to have Thunder Crash ready to use should you find yourself wedged in-between them.
His strongest attack drops a giant ice shelf onto the field, causing the ground to deep freeze and cause constant damage on top of the initial drop. Thankfully it's a heavily telegraphed attack, so there's plenty of time to avoid it. It's best to initially stand still since he takes some time to aim, and then move to whichever side is necessary, jumping over the icicles that come out of the ground. Again, Yunica's burst attack is also useful should you find yourself in a pinch.
Like Epona, his individual attacks don't do much damage, so it's just a battle of keeping up with his speed and knowing how to deal with whatever he throws your way.

Kishgal struggles to his feet, the demonic energy surging from within. Realizing he was unable to keep it under control, the warrior whimsically admits defeat. With his last words, Kishgal acknowledges the strength of the Tovah's and the pride he found in ending with such a fitting battle, fading away with no regrets.
Yunica herself has a brief moment of regret over their meeting, but quickly regains focus: nothing stands between her and stopping Dalles' plans.

The first time I played YS origin was on the steam release (2013 or so) and I don't remember this fight at all. I played on Nightmare on my first playthrough, and remember struggling so much againts Epona, Nygtilder and Gelaldy, but I didn't even remember this fight existed until I replayed the game this month.
The finish using the ultra ability is epic.
I know this is many years past the date, but I can confirm that this video does not represent the current balance of the game on PC. I have max upgrade on both final armors and take 14 more damage per hit. I have all cleria and gems and do 8 damage less per hit. I know we are both level 49 due to health values (poster had not found/used one celcetan pancea) and there is no way to be level 50 with 342. Finally the AOE special Ice attack hits full screen on my game. There is no safe spot as in the video. The poster performed the fight well and this can work as a helpful analysis of how to not get hit and do damage, but if you are playing on the current PC version of the game you will have a more challenging fight than is shown.
Yes I'm on PS4 and Kishgal like Epona was tense but not impossible...after a lot of try. Epona was completelly out of control in her last phase and Kishgal launched 3/4 attacks in the same time. I boosted my armor and legs protection to max for win him at level 51. My health bar was almost empty but i'm made it. There's still Dalles before the end...LOL.
Nice job Vercsase.
Im not sure if its just the difference between the pc and ps4 version but i have the same hp as you do with upgraded armour unlike you do and am taking double the damage and dealing about 3/4 the damage. Not to mention the aoes are larger and he has way less downtime between attacks (like almost nothing) and this is leading me to think that this maybe wasnt done on nightmare difficulty like you say it was.
I can attest to his damage and defense in nightmare. I am at the same part and am having trouble. I noticed his HP is way higher than mine. Which means he has way more attack damage and defense than I did. I have been grinding and I am now even with his HP at level 49. I have not beat the boss yet, but I am doing much better now and getting closer. Just going to take some more attempts until I win. The stuff he got hit with mid fight and the lower damage portion of the attacks.
What level are you? I am on the Vita, taking way more dmg.
I know my response to your comment is very late but still. One reason why you're taking way more damage than the OP of this video is because he's playing on the PC with the keyboard but you are playing this on the PS Vita so you can't jump, attack and hold the skill all at the same time, that's just impossible
@@kaneki18-d1t4 i think he meant per hit, and im confused as well cause im taking more damage and the bosses aoe on the big ice drop is WAY bigger yet we have the same health.
It was obvious you're playing this on the PC or else you wouldn't be able to jump, attack and hold your skill all the same time. This is just impossible on the PS4 or PS Vita
Why can't you do that though? Honest question, cause I'm playing on PC as well.

You can still hold your skill while jumping.
If you use 2 fingers while jumping.
I played Oath on nightmare with original controller keybinds, it is definiteley inconvenient, but I learned to keep my thumb on square (for magic) while jumping or attacking, just covering two buttons at the same time, it's easier to learn if you never used two fingers for right hand buttons. That being said it was a lot of stress on my thumb at times when I played for long, but it is definitely possible. For Origins though I did remap the buttons, but difficulty for both games is pretty similar, I feel Oath is a bit harder, but could just be because it was the one I played first.
Im playing on ps4 and i can do that, you hold l2 and its not to hard to hit 2 buttons at once with your thumb
I just finished this game not that long ago also on pc but using a ps4 controller
you could not be more wrong lel
