HIGH QUALITY WARM ROSIN Use a softer, dark green rosin for gut strings or those wanting a warmer, smoother sound. Do not buy if living in a tropical / hot climate. - Pirastro Olive: amzn.to/3Y3WDwv
As a necromancer of old long-neglected violins I have a huge collection of rosin that has come along to my possession in the cases they come in. I have read some people saying rosin deteriorates and "goes off" with age. I have never found evidence of this. My daughter prefers the ancient black rosin . I've loads of it in little old Victorian cardboard boxes - giving her a lifetime supply. It would be interesting to see what happens to black rosin in a tropical climate.
