Add the casino/moa complex into the mix, which metro cebu is still trying to have for itself (srp/mactan) Metro cebu has less congestion/pollution though and has its own world-class beaches/resorts right in its shores (mactan)

Isn't that the same with other Airport, if you checked your ticket receipt, you will see that you paid for using their airport(Incheon Airport been there a lot of times). Airport Tax is around 20$. In Cebu it is not part of the ticket yet but it will be soon. The reason being you will pay for 850 pesos terminal fee.

So that would mean also going to flying business class and driving a gas saver down to coach class and driving a gas guzzling minivan for the family.

In 3 years time, Duterte’s admin have accomplished alot in terms of air transportation specifically building significant number of high-end international airports. Philippines is an archipelago, our country needs alot of investment with regards to sea and air transportations. Goodjob to President Duterte👍
Please stop dreaming. This new terminal and other improvements done in Cebu-Mactan International Airport were done long before 2016 when Duterte assumed office. The improvement in the airport was started in 2014 when a private firm, GMCAC, took over the operation and management of the MCIA. In short, this airport is managed by a private corporation, not by government. Don't you know that GMCAC started the construction of this new terminal (now called T2) was in 2015 yet, a year before Duterte assumed office? Most of all, no government money is spent on whatever improvements you see in the airport including the construction of this new terminal. Meaning, not a single peso by a single Filipino citizen was spared for this terminal. This airport is the only airport in the Philippines that is managed and operated by a private company.
