Wdym? As you can see you can just skip fights like the Old guardian fight to come though doorway and other things.

phase move intended purpose to get players a tool to evade softlock, it can only be gained through empty scroll

you can bypass many requirements with phase like required keys for items or boss fights as well as getting to dev spots
It's also great for getting out of bad situations or avoiding traps. I have been trapped by a crowmauler with no means to win (red vial) and used phase step to get out of the corner I was in to avoid him.

I think that ending A would be a 20-30 min speedrun without dev spots if you know the game well
Edit: and I know someone who knows the game well enough that he want to try a blind run so…
