When the patient is positioned in the ZAP-X machine:
    a) How are the fiducials on the mask matched to be in the correct position & alignment? I didn't see any lasers in the ZAP-X globe? Are there in-room lasers for that?
    b) After matching of fiducials is done & patient is slid inside, how is position verification done? Using only 2D planar X-rays?
Most other Linac-based SRT/SRS methods (X-Knife) have a CBCT-based matching, which is far superior!

Can you explain how this differs from traditional gamma knife surgery? You’ve used the word “eradicate” but we’ve been told gamma knife doesn’t shrink tumors but only stops further growth. It would be amazing to have the chance to shrink the tumor vs stop it’s growth

What you have learned is correct. There is no kind of radiation therapy that eradicates tumors except metastasis. However you can delete a metastasis it will eventually come back if the primary disease is not under control
