  • These are both great amps for what they do. I think the Fender has a lot of super cool features, it's lightweight, and looks really classy and sharp. The Fishman Loudbox is a hoss and feels like it could survive a plane crash. Which one do you like best?
    Thanks to Willis Music in Lexington, KY. They didn't sponsor this video, but they were kind enough to allow me to borrow this amp for a review. You can get this amp at a great price on their website if you're not local. They will ship it to your front door.

    I've owned both amps and I play acoustic gigs every weekend. They are both great amps but I prefer the Fender Acoustic Jr. I just think it sounds better. The vocals and guitar to me sound better than the Fishman but you can't go wrong with either one.

    Thanks for the demo. I picked a Junior 100 up this past week and your audio works just fine on bluetooth with it! Im in agreement with Tom. I had a choice between the two and the fender is waaaay more versitile and sounds better to me. I am referring to the mini. Thanks again, nice demo.

    Another benefit of the Fender Junior is that it has many more D.I. options. It has two D.I. outputs which can be configured as separate outputs for the individual inputs, stereo mix (the FX are in stereo) or mono mix. Gives many more options when using the amp as a monitor and going through a house PA. Did a gig the other day where I used the Junior for my FX on vocals and guitar, used the looper, and sent the individual outputs to the board so that the sound engineer would have individual mix control. We also tried the guitar through a D.I. alone and the microphone straight through the house PA. Both outputs sounded much better through the Junior than they did straight into the system. Straight through the system the EQ didn’t sound very good, when we plugged it through the Junior, the outputs sounded wonderful without any extra EQ tweaking on the board. And worked as an excellent monitor onstage for me. I haven’t used it for a stand alone gig yet where I depend entirely on the volume of the amp alone, but for the busking and small concerts I do that don’t have a PA available it’s more than enough. The looper (with the footswitch), the tuner (with the footswitch), the selection of effects, the ability to mute the FX (from the footswitch) while talking, the tilt up stand on the bottom…I love this amp (GET THE FOOTSWITCH!!!)

      Thank you very much for sharing your experience and Adam for the honest review. Lately it is difficult in Germany to test things in a store due to delivery issues in these days. Do you think it would sound fairly well if I run my electric guitar through an iridium and plug it in the AUX? Mainly I play acoustic guitar and use the mic for singing in the living room. In order to avoid issues with my wife I’m looking for a solution with a minimum of cables and boxes 😅

  • @chrisbbill
    @chrisbbill 3 года назад +12

    The addition of the foot switch with the Junior is a must! If you’re going to buy or try the Fender Junior go the extra 60+ dollars for the footswitch. Control over effects selection and effects muting, control of the looper, built in tuner (which works really well) that mutes the guitar while tuning. The footswitch is definitely worth the extra bucks.

    First class outstanding wonderful review. Personally since I am a singer and I own a loudbox performer and I don’t think I would use anything else because I love it. But this fender it’s very interesting and hey we can always have more than one amplifier I might want to get it and see how my guitar sounds with it. I know that my D 18 Martin sounds absolutely knockdown fabulous ooohh yesss through my loudbox performer. But I might want to try it through his fender just to see.How the guitar sounds. But I don’t think the fender would ever ever ever ever match the loud box for vocals.

    No doubt the Loudbox Mini is a better overall amp (construction, head room, platform for pedals, etc.) but I can see that the Fender model is really great if you are at home and don't want to invest in pedals. You are absolutely right; it depends what your use of acoustic amplification.....

    I didn't had the chance to test the loud box mini, I trust you they are better indeed. But I was so impressed by the Fender acoustic junior go and I bought it. It has one advantage to the loud box I think.The fender has a built in battery that is rechargeable and is lasting 5‐12 hours depending on the volume settings. And it has a tilt stand at the bottom. I think it is satisfying enough to do decent outdoor gigs with.

      @@adamsacousticarsenal6573 Thanks Adam. And maybe you could make another video of the fender amp with some pointers how to set the bass, mids and treble knobs? From what I've gathered bass is for your Low E and A strings, Mids for the D and G strings and Treble for your B and high E strings. And that it is best to start all knobs at noon, and then cut off slightly the bass and treble and boost your mids slightly to get a sincere natural sounding acoustic.

    Good review. I don't care about additional effects on amps, just a pure great acoustic guitar sound. the microphone channel is less of a concern. Far too many amps boast effects and looping while not delivering quality acoustic tone. I already have a Roland ac60, Shertler jam 100, Fender Acoustasonic and a Crate CA125. I want a better amp with amazing tone.

      I own the loud box pro. Fender Go, ARE 60, Roland AC 60 and boss Singer. However the best sounding and loudest is California Blondes SWR. I have Two the Sun valley made and Mexico made. This is what I only gig with. The down side is reverb only and 50 pounds of pain. There simply is no tin as the others produce. The only other way I found to get the True Nature and Natural sound process from my Martins is with a expensive condenser mic. The blonde come close and zero problems with full band. Old school as they are they cannot be beat.

    @greglarry11 2 года назад +3

    I believe you said the Fender and the Fishman were the same wattage. Are you sure? The specs say the Fender Acoustic Junior is 100 watts and the Fishman mini is 60 watts. I think the Fender is likely to offer more power.

    • @budthebusker
      @budthebusker 2 года назад +2

      MUCH MORE POWER !!!

    • @PilusPrimus
      @PilusPrimus Год назад +1

      The specsheet says it's 50 watts per channel for the Fender. So while it's technically 100watts, it's only amplifying either source using 50 watts.
      I'm not sure about the Fishman though - whether both channels are mixed and then amplified by a single 60 watt amp, or two 30W amps in fashion similar to the fender.
      That would be a useful comparison. If the loudbox is both channels running through one amplifier, I'd expect the Fender would actually sound cleaner when both channels run close to their max volume - better dynamics and attack and less overall distortion compared to the loudbox in same situation. I'd watch a followup video that compared them in more of a situation like you're trying to get the most volume from both channels in a noisy coffee shop or rehearsal space - my usual use case lol.

    • @RyanMcQuen
      @RyanMcQuen Год назад +1

      Wattage 'volume' increases by a factor of 10, so 60 versus 100 is not as significant as it sounds. Tons of other factors matter as well, like speaker sensitivity.

  • @xf9213
    @xf9213 2 года назад +1

    Yes i am able to confirm this comparation. As a gigging and busking acoustic player, i prefer ( and i use ) the loudbox charge after side-by-side comparation.
    Loudbox Charge is easy to use, has a nicer guitar tone, nicer reverb, nicer chorus, is louder, has enough batteriepower for the event and never let me down.
    If just for home-use, i whould think about a change to Fender Go.
