I’m thrilled with the tone on my Loudbox mini. I use my favourite pedals with it, but love the reverb and chorus. For vocals I connect a battery operated boss ve-1 vocal effects unit. Very happy! The fender has a lot built into it for fx.

I think the Fender Acoustic Junior amp is vry gd. I’m a professional player and like the solid sound of it.

my speakers are either distorted or your "gain" was too high.

I have a 1939 authentic one with aged sunburst Adirondack and formidable very old sinker mahogany. Best Martin I ever played. Better than my D-42 custom and D-45. I did have to pay about $7,000 for it though. But what a cannon in sound. This one sound so awesome too.

No one has any review if I want to use acoustic guitar without pick up with microphone and singing? Should I use PA or acoustic amp and which one for very small group of people?

I have a Fender Acoustic Junior, a Loudbox Mini, and 2 Bose S1 Pros. The Fender is my favorite. Easy setup, light. I use it for practice and gigging.

I would not say .. sharp .. meh ... it is an shoe box , brown plastic something leather ? But it sounds very good , it is clear and straight to use . Im ready to buy bot in EU it is 25% expensive, BTW the previous version of SFX was unusualy sharp design ... for american compmany , but I think as usually beancoumters push for the effing bottom line to please shareholders and musicants get an shoebox, good sounding shoebox , but in the end it is an sore eye shoebox

Get your facts straight mate, you got one thing right, matons are fantasticly great quality guitars, and will hold their own against any others.

Are the clips of the Lyric only, a recording direct from pickup to DAW? Or, are they of Lyric to DAW to a speaker to a mic picking up the sound emanating from that speaker? I ask because this is a truer rendition of what the pickup actually sounds like on stage-which is actually what matters in these comparisons. If not, it would be interesting to hear a comparison of the two: Lyric to DAW (as a recording) and Lyric to DAW to speaker to mic to recording!

Maton guitars sound great plugged in, play great and they are great gigging guitars. I really want to love their acoustic tone but to my ears it just aint there

I remember an I-Beam demo with Phil Keaggy and Robin Crow. They sounded much better than this! They used a $1,000,000 mic set to compare against the I-Beam and the both sounded as close to perfect as I have ever heard. Was there some dishonest tweaking in L.R. Baggs demo or your recording method and gear setup? Thanks for sharing!

One of the best sounding guitars I remember from the early 70's was a Harmony Sovereign, an ladder-braced guitar. My brother and several friends had them and they made my 73' Martin D-28 sound muddy in comparison. They also were prone to warpage and belly bow. My Martin's still alive and kicking. Life's a trade-off.

Have both amps both are good. The Fender better.

The Ibeam was a little bassy for my taste. I put one in one of my guitars and picked up a LR Baggs Venue DI to give me some EQ options since I regularly play through PA. Was able to cut some bass, boost the mids a bit, and dial in a sound that fit the mix. A good DI/EQ can do a lot for these pickups. It's never going to be as natural as a mic. but I could get decent sound.

I'm sorry, but if you're going to demo guitar pickups, a modicum of competence in the player is the least we can expect. If you're playing at this level, how much difference is it going to make? It's weird that the players most fussy about their sound are those who just haven't put the hours in.

The most unpredictable pickup in the world. I've installed maybe a dozen over the years. Sometimes they sound magnificent. Sometimes hopeless. A single millimetre can make a world of difference. If it were only possible to adjust the placement without taking the strings off again and again....

Very useful comparison. I'm wondering if you tried different placements with the iBeam? I have one and it doesn't sound that muffled. I tried different placements using recordings to compare (to eliminate the natural sound of the guitar)

How is the quality of the line out to PA for the JR?

The EQ in the „Lyric” preamp endpin jack was especially tweaked for a classic guitar with nylon strings. As well as the „Anthem SL-Classical” which is totally different than the standard „Anthem SL”. That’s why it sounds like $hit on a steel string guitar.

Show me the fender sounds way better, but the Fishman has more power but if you’re running a speaker out then you don’t need a power

I have the Fender, and it sounds fantastic, but I regret buying because of having the controls on the top at the back. Impossible too see at the gig. I will be changing it for the Fishman because of that. Seems it doesn't bother everyone, but when I look at the amp, I wanna see the controls

I bought one for $1,999.00 let me start by saying I only have one fender luthier work on my fenders there's only 8 in the US! after six months of below average use we tried various things to keep it in tune but to no avail! also the bridge pickup developed a buzz that kept getting louder and the neck moves alot needing to have the truss rod adjusted frequently ! next NO PICK GUARD! surface scratches easily good luck on the repair!!! Careful how you strum! that's a chunk of cash !🎸
