Great to see Sir Roger Moore looking all young and in his prime, glad i actually got to meet him at one of his speaking tour shows before he died. Sadly missed!
I was a child when the pursuaders came. The witt and humour Tony Curtis and Roger Moore displayed made me smile constantly, rest in peace both of you Lord Brett Sinclair and Danny Wilde. BTW,the theme song was just awesome.
Moore was always my favorite Bond.. he had a certain understated style and confidence that seemed to fit my mental pictures of what a Bond should be like.
I never knew Roger was on What's my line! Plugging the Persuaders. Love Sir Roger rip a true gentleman and so handsome. A great man a legend indeed. Thank you so much😇
that's really a pleasure to see again this beautiful man. Mr Roger Moore was not only a beautiful actor, according to me he was a "beautiful" man without any pretention and with this incredible sense of humour.
I enjoyed his James Bond movies a lot. Boyish charm with suave personality. He was always having this smirky cheeky smile. Like a cute boy who has his hand in the cookie jar but knows his charm will carry him without any punishment and knows the moms/ladies are swooning over him and will let him off.
Never saw this before. And then in 1973 he would be saying to Jane Seymour "My name's Bond....James Bond" in "Live And Let Die". Sir Roger was an excellent Bond, and will be missed.
His unique personality and charm captivated me from a very early age watching him in The Saint. As Bond he was sensational with his brand of humour. I struck lucky when I bumped into him outside a restaurant in Knightsbridge, London in 2009. He was very charming as we exchanged a few words. M News of his death felt like loosing a family member, miss him not being around. RIP
Fabulous! Hadn't seen this before, and I've been a fan of Roger since The Persuaders! first aired in the UK in 71! Thank you for posting (and in such beautiful quality) 👏👏👏👏
Moore and Curtis made a good team in The Persuaders. They had a good chemistry together. BTW, Eammon Andrews was moderator of the British WLM in the '50s and sometime panelist on the original WML.
Well that's a switch. Gail Sheldon was sitting in Soupy Sales' spot and Soupy Sales was sitting in Arlene Francis' spot! I was only 14 in December of '71. That was the period that I watched this show up in my bedroom at night. Here in Philly, it came on at 7 o'clock on Channel 6. But in the fall of '72, it moved to Channel 3, but it still came on at the same time. Unfortunately, during the show's last season (1974-75), it came on in the afternoon here in Philly, and I was in school then.
@@Tubewings cool yes 1 , did they make like the first 12 on location and last 12 more in the studio because they ran out of money or did I imagine that .
My Father use to own a Sporting Goods Store here, and we sold mainly Brunswick Pool 🎱 Tables, the hardest delivery was to a Doctor's house 🏠 where he wanted it put in his basement. Also I had a Jacket just like the Dentist wore. Just loved Sally Ann's dress 👗
When Roger landed the role of Simon Templar he was given carte blanche via a blank cheque in the choice of car he used in the series. Most people expected him to keep it British and expected him to come back with something like a top of the range Jaguar or something similar. I think they were a bit stunned when he opted for the Volvo P1800S but they were very sporty too. I used to own one and great cars indeed and fetching good money for them now. They used four cars throughout the series. Incidentally he was the highest paid actor in the Saint television series earning £1000.00 Pounds per episode. A staggering amount for the time.
I interviewed Johnny Goodman a few years ago and he said the production team went to Jaguar first to try and get a vehicle for Templar, but they were not very helpful and didn't need the publicity anyway. Someone suggested a new sporty, stylish Volvo, the P1800S, and it should be considered. The makers of the series liked it and Volvo were very obliging. Roger loved it so much he had one for his own personal use.
In the first moments I thought this was a British Show, but when they talked about social security number 2, I knew it's from the US. Btw., Montgomery Burns is number 2, number 1 is Teddy Roosevelt... I really enjoyed watching this, great entertainment!
this happened a lot in the later years of What's My Line because they felt it was important to show the products of the people instead of playing the game. There was no need to play pool in this episode.
We had a pool table when I was a kid (early 70's). Not an uncommon thing back then. Back in the day, I ran a table or two in a couple of seedy bars. My college friends would bet on me, lots of free drinks. Good times!!!
I learned to shoot pool from my college suitemate's brother, who was a shark who taught me to play. His hero was Willie Masconi. Guys were always shocked when I handily ran the table or made very difficult shots. This was at University of TN in Knoxville in the 70's. Fun times and a lot of free drinks!! Love shooting pool still today.
I'm sure I'm not the only person to catch tbe reference to River City and the Trouble down there, spelled with a capital "T," and that rhymes with "P" and that stands for Pool!
thank you ! don't you think that Roger Moore was the only "james bond " who truly loved high class clothing ? for instance he designed all his clothes in the tv series " the persuaders" . just read the credit in ending sequence you'll see clothing made by Roger Moore
I never really noticed that more of the "newer" episodes (the color ones).....they flip the cards or run out of time way too fast, it took the fun out of finding out what they were trying to find out. They spent more time with demonstrations and talking to the guests instead of trying to figure out what they were on there for. Like for instance in this one, who cares about the panel playing pool, I'd rather they kept asking questions.
Roger Moore was always my favorite Bond. Never took the situations he got in to seriously with his tongue in cheek humor.
He was good but I think they let him go a little too old for the role though.
Yes. He's the best Bond
A view to a kill, his last Bond film, was great. He did the job perfectly.
Also the soundtrack of "A view to a kill" by Duran Duran is a masterpiece
@@Stiitchjones not really, he got maybe too old in a view to a kill for the physical stuff but the rest was perfect about his Performance
I cried when Roger Moore died.he was a good age 89, but I miss him alot, I wish he was still alive
89 is a ripe old age. I doubt Roger cared if he lived longer.
Thomas Egan me too
@@4seeableTV Died of prostate cancer. Sure he would have preferred to pass of natural causes.

Tony curtis should of been in one of Rogers bond movies as maybe the baddie, would of been cool .

Im so sorry

Yes, in only two years he was degraded from a lord to a mere spy.
Lau Bjerno, but everyone loved him 🙂
Hope you're resting in peace, Sir Roger
Roger Saint Moore is a blessing to humanity and an endless delight to feasting eyes. Craig is a block of driftwood covered with tar and moss.
Sir Roger was my hero growing up in the 1970s. Class act.

Both the first and third James Bonds (Sean Connery and Sir Roger Moore) appeared on "What's My Line"!
and celebrity jeopardy ;)
R.I.P. sir Roger
Best Bond ever
"The Persuaders" only lasted one season, and maybe that's a good thing, as it enabled Mr. Moore to become another well-known British character.
well if only they had started earlier with the Persuaders! then ;-)
I though it was 2 seasons
@@simonp7095 Nope. One series of 24 episodes.

Soupy Sales and James Bond in the same sentence. Never would have thunk'it !

Enjoyed seeing Sally Anne Howe. I remember her from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Miss seeing Arlene though.
That voice. I think Eamonn Andrews got him immediately.

Roger Moore in James Bond movies 1973 to 1985

didnt realise eamon andrews was a celebrity in the US in his younger days
Aired the week of December 27-31, 1971.
Supposedly, Stewart granger was his model/idol. His injection of humor to bond was most welcome.
Although I prefer the earlier run, Wally Bruner does a very credible job as moderator and the new twists are kind of a fun change of pace!
I agree. It's very enjoyable. I also love seeing the fadhions if the time.
Ridiculously short amount of time to figure out the mystery guest...

Sally Ann Howes was sounding very mid‒Atlantic.
The mystery guest segment was ridiculously rushed on the syndicated version. It wasn't even worthwhile
That's because given the limited time of the syndicated show they wanted it more as a chat spot than a game play spot.
The only true James Bond
You might get some Sean Connery fans who disagree with you.
The hair back then 😅 ❤️
