Keeping your transmission to “D” during long red stop lights will cause extra wear on friction discs and overheats your trans fluid so I shift to “N”. So which one will inflict more damage now?
When ever it is going to be 1 minute stop in D or longer it would make sense to put it into N. But then when you put it into N it is important to hold the break pedal for 1 second longer before setting on the gas. Never shift into drive or reverse while stepping on the gas.
By the way I change my own transmission fluid and filter. I use Amsoil and have installed a transmission oil cooler. My 1997 Buick Park Avenue has 237,000 miles on the engine and transmission.
I just got a 2004 Camry XLE with 162K miles on it two weeks ago from a dealership. Idk when the transmission fluids where changed or flush but when should I worry or get it serviced? Shifts fine but I didn't see the Carfax of when it got done last.
dethklokrocks14 If you feel vibrations when putting it into reverse or drive or when it shifts the fluid is dirty should be changed. Or you can always look in the manual it tell you when fluids should be changed
first carfax is a joke because most service shops dont report to them but carfax will make it seem like they get all that info. You should be able to tell by the fluids color , next time you take it for a oil change, ask them to check the transmission fluid , they can tell by the the color it is, if it needs to be changed..
Guys it's easyl okay? if you follow these few steps your car will last 1 million miles 1 step When you 're going to start your vehicle from cold. Don't let it warm up just flor it to max rpm/redline. It will eliminate any carbon built up. 2. step Never engine break, accelerate hard and then break hard EVERYTIME 3rd. step Never wait for the car to get to operating temperature, pedal to the metal every time.....! 4th step When reversing slam it into drive before stopping, this will help things move properly 5th step When your car can't drive anymore, scrap it and buy a manual, thx :)
Holy cow this guy is gonna have an aneurysm if he keeps talking the way he does. Is he dosen't, he'll get in an car accident with all the attention he is giving to a camera while driving.
No offense though but i understand that this video is normal people who know nothing about vehicles but all of this is simple things basically anyone should know, everything you talked about went with damn near everything that has to do with the drive line in a vehicle, good luck with the channel though
Stop screaming dude I mean it’s nice cuz we can hear u and stop putting people’s lives at risk recording while u drive all it takes is a split second to crash dude
I’d like to watch the video but only made it ten seconds in before I had to exit out due to your obnoxious voice. Why are you yelling like this? It’s completely unnecessary and doesn’t get your point across, it’s just incredibly grating and obnoxious.

Yeah if you're waiting for a train or waiting a long while. Definitely best to put it in neutral, don't what this guy is talking about.

Toyota Camrys have no history of having transmission problems so you should be good
