While I would have preferred it to be the Nasutoceratops-Stegosaurus hybrid that is shown in concept art and on Wu's computer, I am happy to have this big ugly brute back! I think the funniest thing is that Jurassic World isn't the first franchise to do a Triceratops-Stegosaurus hybrid let alone the first one to call them a Stegoceratops. In the novel "Tarzan the Terrible" (1921) there are giant carnivorous dinosaurs called Gryfs which look like a Triceratops with Stegosaurus plates and spikes. In the film "Yor: The Hunter from the Future" (1983) the main character fights a dinosaur which looks like Triceratops with Stegosaurus plates and spikes which is funnily enough called a "Stegoceratops". So despite how outlandish the JWE design is, it does fit into a Retrosaur-style park if you want to build one of those
My Best Stegoceratops Skin Patterns is 0:51 Svalbard/Rana, 1:21 Great Sandy Desert/Chalcorana, 2:31 Salar Del Huasco/Lithobates, 3:26 Champlain Valley/Pulchrana, 4:46 Yukon River/Papurana, 6:06 Gambia River Basin/Lux and 7:01 Amazon Rainforest/Blank.
This species is what really got me conflicted on buying this pack. On one hand, the least Frontier could have done is change it to the canon Nasuto design, and the "re-selling" would have been forgiven (Spinoraptor is excused because he is Spinoraptor and he is perfect the way he is). On the other hand, this Stegoceratops model has a special place in my heart. I remember making a custom Lego Stegoceratops with Creator Set 31058 and some surplus items I had (I even added the extra horns on the frill). Nonetheless, I'm glad this big guy is back, and more colorful too.
