It makes me happy when people genuinely seem to like my home town because one becomes self doubting and thinks maybe their home town is overrated and people who travel a long way for a holiday are disappointed and don't find it as good as they expected. Getting a tick of approval is always welcome and self assuring because I don't know if it's as good as other places.
I grew up in this area; looking back on it now I realise that we were pretty much living in paradise - just took it for granted at the time. So lucky.
My daughter and her family, husband and daughter (6) and son (5) had the fantastic experience of living in Manly for a little over a year. I was lucky to visit 3 times. What a wonderful place and country! My grandchildren were so firtunate to spend some of their early years there. And the 6 year old surfs.... both have become fantastic swimmers!

My favourite place to visit when I've been down in Sydney. The snorkeling off Cabbage Tree Bay aka Shelly Beach was really good. And if you find the ocean too rough and unpredictable, the rock pool located just off the walkway between the main beach and Cabbage Tree Bay is lots of fun.

You can in most areas, but the southern side of the city is blocked off because it is within the 5km restriction of the airport

You're supposed to be 50 metres away from people horizontally and in a position where if you did suddenly crash nobody or nothing valuable would get damaged.

FYI where here was flying is a restricted zone, within 5.5 Km from a flight and National Park. So double trouble!
