i feel ya on this, i'm also more drawn to the solos when it comes to Necrophagist
i highly suggest their song 'Stabwound'. the instrumental Bridge section that repeats like 3 times is one of the Coolest things i've ever heard in death metal! . the song is worth a listen just for that part alone .

Actually Muhammed (guitarist/songwriter/vocalist) used a drum machine on this album. The rest is played by him alone.
You are halfway right; this version is from re-recorded American print ( There was a dispute between Muhammed and the label and they didn't reprint the album after it went out of print, so he shook hands with another label and remastered the whole album for the second print). Drums were recorded again with an actual drummer.
@@verinays On my cd it simply says they made new drum samples, so yeah ok, not technically a drum machine. Either way, awesome album.

@@lostopportunity4701 According ro wikipedia it was Hannes Grossman. Romain Goulon joined the band in late 2008 for live performances.
No one can resist the china grooves! If you want to sample more tech death, some popular flavors are Obscura (try Vortex Omnivium), Beyond Creation (perhaps Social Disability) and Soreption (Breeding Exile).

The first album is a drum machine playing samples of a real drummer. Hope that doesn't ruin it for you.
The studio release is a real drummer playing the drum parts that Muhammad (the vocalist) wrote for a drum machine. You can hear the original programmed drums on the 1995 demo tape of Onset of Putrefaction
