  • This is just a simple how to video of safety wiring your motorcycle rotorbolts. After some practice with good technics you can make your work look like a pro. I used to do this a lot on jet engines so its pretty easy now.
This was filmed using a GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition in 1080 HD @48fps in narrow view.

It’s a little bit different in avaiation. The pliers with wavy teeth easier on the wire because they don’t cause little nicks when clamping on the wire. When you twist them by hand, you want the twist to be at about a 120 degree angle.

Yeah, I know but it's just a lil how to video for those that don't know.

I understand completely. I don’t know if I came across as a dick. That wasn’t my intention. I just figured I would throw a couple more points out there in case someone that’s never done it before was looking for a couple more pointers. I liked the video. You did a good job on it.

Awesome info here man. Good technique as well. Now did you drill the bolts with them still in the rotor and wheel?

Does this ruin the integrity of the bolt screws? They might not be able to back out, but what about hairline fractures from drillings that could potentially shatter the bolts and such?

Darik Rome No. It doesn't cause any issues. It's a very small hole that only goes through the head of the bolt.

But you can buy them on aircraftspruce.com. They are MS or AN standard spec

You can buy tools that line bolts up with guide holes so you can drill them yourself, I don’t think they cost that much
