I've always taken this song as a typical Skillet song that can have a double meaning, the secular side. Struggled, fought your way out of something to get to a better life, poverty, abuse, whatever and you're not going back. The Christian side, you've tried life on your own, and now with God in your life ... you're never going back to life without God. But of course they have never pushed their faith on anyone, just inspires their music. On the "sub" train for more Skillet!!!
