This movie and Hans Zimmer is why they were oscar worthy. This ending score haunted me through the years because it was like watching two kindred spirits taking flight and the music uplifted you from the reality of their tragic ending. The all time BFF film ever!
Remembering my best who passed away. When the film was released, our friends called us Thelma and Louise. Always loved the guitar work. Ill always hold a good thought for you, Melissa
It absolutely is. I never imagined it could charm me in the way it did. It was the late night film on tv here and I stayed up watching it. In the end I was a crying mess of joy :p It felt very liberating. The movie has a beautiful message.
1:14 Really hits because the moment the car flies off the cliff, pretty much signifies Thelma and Louise's freedom and flight to be wild. As sad as it was to watch them commit suicide, and it's never the answer. They had difficult lives, and went through traumatic experiences, they were released from the shackles of life. (I'm also just speaking in the context of the story, not about reality)
I do cry almost every time I hear it and I turn the movie off before the ending cause I don't want their journey to end. One of my very favorite films and a great score.
I watched this movie for the first time yesterday. I must admit it was extremely sad hence the ending brought me here. Love the guitar sound. Hans never disappoints
Just watched it again having not seen it for many years. Still a great movie that holds up. Solid acting, beautiful cinematography and an awesome score. Love it!
Great ending and this music.. the feels Sad but in a way liberating being very symbolic Still gets me every time even after 30 years! These women became free and untouched
I remember when this film came out and a lot of people were shocked they ended their lives, but if you think about it they had no other options. They killed the man who hurt someone, and (like a lot of the time), the woman is to blame. They were friends, had difficult lives, and I'm glad the characters got to end their lives on their own terms instead of a prison somewhere.
they didn't really commit suicide, it's a metaphor, people shouldn't be what someone else or society want them to be, they should be what they want, they just entered a new dimension :) of freedom
Maybe it's because I grew up with movies from this era. Or maybe it's because of the kind of films, and the kind of music they wrote back then. But this song, makes me really want to say, "hey, I just watched one hell of a great movie". There is just something about it that has that written all over it.
It TRULY is. I'm so glad I found this link and so grateful to know of so many others that are emotionally touched by it too. The instant it plays there's this overwhelming burst of feeling around my chest, neck, back and definitely my spine, which radiates throughout the rest of me again like lighting and thunder storm clouds form while static travels the surface of my being -- chills and goosebumps every which way. APPRECIATION. LOVE. Instant feelings/acknowledgement of past/present love(ers)
I sincerely regard this as my favourite Ridley Scott film. Nothing against Blade Runner which I friggin adore as well, but there is just something different, more pure about Thelma and Louise that makes it more special to me. It might not be as deep, philosphical or poetic, but the simple story of this film is just so endearing.
This song makes me feel nostalgic of the loved ones we had the good times with and the loved ones who are no longer here and are dearly missed. But it also gives me a happy feeling of having loving friends and family that have gone on to the other side. All in all I cherish this song
This movie effected me...for many reasons becuz life does end not always on our own terms...so I ordered the DVD movie for my own use to view whenever I want to see it...without any interruptions on tv...the music is fantastic..as is the story...and Harvey Keitel was right these two gals were not the problem...the rest of us are........
Thank you so much for posting this. I've been looking for this very piece of music for years. Especially this one that we hear during the final scene !
This song has resonated with me including life-scene and emotions since from the past. Now at present, the song is only being played for the ears to listen to as a reminder of what's going to happen. 😌
Watched this movie for the second time last night. The first time I saw it, I was in my early 20s and didnt understand the ending. Now Im 40 and understand the ending far too well. I am finally healed from a bad marriage and finally get to live my life. Im free!😊
There was a rumor that there was supposed to be a part 2. Them older telling their story that they landed safely someone. I guess saying they landed on a mountain that wasn't so deep down. It wouldn't be believable. Fr9m what I read, they both turned it down.
Je pense fort à toi, ma copine, qui repose auprès des étoiles 🌟💫 Plus de souffrances 🥺 Je t’aime pour toujours 💔💫🧡💛❤🙏 Ce film m’a tellement fait penser à nous 😭😭😭
i showed this film to my cousin and we made a vowel that when i pass my test, coz im much older than her, to go on a road trip. fingers crossed we can do it!
Sounds exactly like Kimi wa Dare o Mamotte Iru from the Rurouni Kenshin soundtrack - very similar melody with the same chords in the same key I'm pretty sure. Or more accurately, Kimi wa Dare o Mamotte Iru sounds very similar to this song, as this was created first as far as I know.
I remember one episode of a cartoon I saw years ago that parodied the end of this movie by having these two fugitives drive to the edge of the Grand Canyon chased by the bad guys only for the good guys to catch the bad guys and save them. Then they accidentally knock the car off the cliff and they start to go down so the two kiss only for the car to deploy a parachute and land safely. The episode was called Thelma and Louis.
This film is full of so many excellent actors. ❤
Keep going.... Are you sure ? Yeah !

"The Decision", what a fucking great fitting name.
This song makes me wanna cry😭
Jade Lave hello fellow jade
Jade Salas hello
I do cry almost every time I hear it and I turn the movie off before the ending cause I don't want their journey to end. One of my very favorite films and a great score.
Harvey Keitel running after them in slow motion trying to stop them also brings a lot of emotion to the scene but in a subtle way
Adrienne Lavermon let alone addicted
The music is so epic and emotional. They'd rather die out in the free world rather than live the rest of their lives in a concrete cage like a zoo.
I only hear the first chords and I'm already crying 😭😭😭😭
Them first few...and ur done! 😢
Me too😢

scorzi I heard they survived
But I think they were severely injured tho
Argggg....and Harvey Keitel running trying to save them. The iconic shot of this awesome movie❤
Oh god that moment, I've watched it so many times and never fail to cry. 😢😢

Wow

So uplifting. It kind of makes you want to drive your car off a cliff.
+Messylin So you basically saying that listening to it makes you wanna commit a suicide...
they didn't really commit suicide, it's a metaphor, people shouldn't be what someone else or society want them to be, they should be what they want, they just entered a new dimension :) of freedom
Carlos Abreu no, they actually committed suicide. sorry to rain on your parade.
dan4039 I still don't think they died
Very uplifting!! Doesn't make me wanna Drive Off A Cliff...Makes me wanna get on a horse, and Ride through open plains, and LISTENING!!
On the list of top tear-jerker movies with an equally tear-jerking song 😢
Maybe it's because I grew up with movies from this era. Or maybe it's because of the kind of films, and the kind of music they wrote back then. Terrific comment! Thank you. We lived in the best times, where all this meant something.

This was my favorite movie in 1990,watched o many times them driving off the cliff, would rewine movie over and over, hoping they live, ❤❤
One of those Movies where the Main Character Dies. It's as sad as Gran Torino.

My favorite movie of all time
Great 90s type flick. 2 cool chicks. Driving out west a beautiful experience
Sad this is not at original soundtrack CD. Been searching for years. Thanks for posting.
I am only 20 seconds into the song and I am already loving it. I usually don't listen to these type of songs, but I really love it.
Love this movie i never watch toward the end makes me cry
Nostalgia to when I lived with my dad :’(
Epic ending song, is epic.
Has such a nostalgic feel to it. Love it.
I never knew Hans Zimmer composed this movie
It doesn't sound like him at all
One of his earlier scores. Check out Rain Man and Beyond Rangoon too. They’re awesome!
it sounds sort of like the armageddon soundtrack, sort of :D
Goosebumps!
Trilha Sonora maravilhosa! Thelma e Louise é um dos melhores filmes de todos os tempos.
Sem dúvidas!
Great music for a funeral.
I want this to be my funeral song. Chose several years ago. Soumds sad but it makes me think of rebirth
0:50 "HEY!!

One day I will arrive in heaven and see Jesus face to face....and just think to myself...i did it. I made it.
Haha... man, that day will never come cause Jesus doesn't exist, just an illusion.
You got your twins
Great song great movie...been trying to find this song...thanks for sharing...!!!!!!
The night i saw Thelma and Louise was the most beautiful night.
80s Pink-Floyd, Michael Bolton, Hank Williams Jr. all rolled into one.
There was a rumor that there was supposed to be a part 2. Them older telling their story that they landed safely someone. I guess saying they landed on a mountain that wasn't so deep down. It wouldn't be believable. Fr9m what I read, they both turned it down.
Thank you so much!! i love this song! such a great ending to a Great movie!!
I was crying when i heard this song at the end of the movie :')
Je pense fort à toi, ma copine, qui repose auprès des étoiles 🌟💫

"Vas y, tout droit !"......
Vivre sa vie en toute liberté jusqu'à la fin.
If we're going to go down, let's go down in Glory!
Quite a sad end but the soundtrack isn't its got an up beat tone and very emotional
Fucking adore this movie. One of my all time favorites.
Man Hans zimmer is really a legend
If you are hearing this on 2021 you are important for me
Una de las mejores películas de la historia!!! Increíble me encanta, toda la trama. Un final horrible pero Bueno, así son los finales o lindos o feos!
PurpleZebras150 I saw your comment on the other song and looked this up, tripped me out as well lol
Yes, THELMA & LOUISE predates the RUROUNI KENSHIN film by 20 years.
One of the saddest, best fucking scores around!
Chorei bastante no final. Que filme...a atuação de ambas é devastadora
Verdade!
Я тоже
1:16 Goodbye and Godspeed, Thelma & Louise 😂👍💖
True friends hold each other 👊❤x
Music the Universal Language of The Mankind ❤
Awesome score thanks for finding it.
That Cartoon Was The Proud Family
Movie.
I just lost my husband last Friday and memories brought me here to this song . Idk why. Love you baby
ugh it gets me every time
"Let's just keep going, Wayne!" "Okay, Garth!"
...
"Hey, wait a minute! We don't wanna end the movie like this!" "Yeah, let's do the Happy Ending!"
Would've been a great song for the final scene of Sons of Anarchy when Jax pulls a Thelma and Louise.
I just have to remind myself not to listen this song while driving near the Grand Canyon
this is why hans remains the goat
this is love
