Refreshing to hear a man like Fury talk about mental health problems. Lots of the old guard would otherwise dismiss it and go down the same “toughen up” talk track, so this was great to hear.

Not exactly, the old guard wasn't all about "toughen up" no matter how bad the situation is. That's a misconception. The problem with the new guard is that they are far too quick to play the victim. Now every single teen and twenty something I meet moans that they have anxiety when it's nothing more than the typical trials of growing up. Those are the people that need to toughen up. We are breeding a society of soft, molly coddled individuals with arrested development.

I love this man, great man and great father i'm sure of that. He raised his sons very well.. They are doing great in life and they earned it by dedication and hard work. The sportmanship they show is great too..
John's got a way with tall tales, phrases like "never beat a day in his life", I think it's more about respect and reverence than lying or deception. A proud people, and a tough people.
The Fury's probably the best thing to happen to boxing, honesty, determination and charisma in good measure, they all have these attributes! Good luck Tyson.

I dislike how there's no mention of Peter training Tyson, Peter pushed Tyson to the next level which enabled him to beat Klitschko. That awkward, feinting style Tyson is known for comes from Peter it's such a shame they've fallen out.

This has come at a great time for me. My dad was my hero, a fighter, a boxer, a war hero but a great dad. He died in June and listening to John talk I can hear my dad, also called John but he would never say the things said here. Now I understand more. Bartley made an autobiography about his himself and his life. Its on Audible in an audio book, its called the gypsy king, its a fantastic listen. He even goes into great detail about st Leger day, what John referred to here, absolutely mad. Lol its called the Gypsy King,

I like that Tyson's actually the greatest boxer in the world and he's the one with a goofy mask all over his face, dressed like a teenager being interviewed in public... but Big John has proper lighting on him, sitting in a king's throne.
Maybe in some ways he is the real king? He raised a champion, not just a figure of speech, but an actual world champion, I'm sure there are many influences in Tysons life but this man was clearly one of the biggest. He passed on the winning mentality.
