My friends went to OI meetup last week. On Saturday, food started at 10PM officially. They had same type of "do I wait 20 min for food, or do a ride". Some lines did not decrease for them later, even outside of the Potter areas (tacos, Simpsons food court). Maybe they had non-prepped this time and never caught up... They were not happy with my description of just walk in and "grab and go" that I had seen in past OI meetup. They did have good ride experiences the same as yours
I have always wanted to attend one of these. Thanks so much for the tips! If I ever get to go, I'll know better how to utilize the time thanks to your video. 👍💕
I’m going to the June OI meet up for the first time! I could not agree with you more, I think they would make money hand over fist if they could get an event during HHN!!!! I’d buy into that!!!!
Ah so hype! Just booked tickets for our first meetup in June and I’ve been searching like crazy on RUclips for vids and just had the biggest smile when this popped up on my homepage. Thanks, Vincent!!
You will have so much fun! We did the OI Meet Ups in June two years ago. So worth it! Almost everything was a walk on. Hagrids was the longest wait. One hour. We almost didn’t get to ride Hulk. When we got there they were just closing the line. Luckily, a cast member let us in because we didn’t have to put anything in a locker. I would say the one added tip is get the foods you most want early! Don’t wait until later in the evening. I wanted to try a hot butter beer so bad but they were gone by the time I got to the front of the line. 😢 We noticed other places were out of certain items too. Cinnabon was another one gone. We felt like they needed to plan better with food. Other than that, no complaints. We would do it again in a heartbeat! 😁 Two nights is a must because one night goes soooo quickly! Funny thing. Since Velocicoater was in technical rehearsals while we were there so it wouldnt be open for the meet-up. So we wanted to make sure we rode that one before the parks closed. It did have to close while we were in line because of lightning. They weren’t sure when it was going to reopen so they were telling everyone to go ride something else. We stayed put! People started leaving and we kept creeping closer to the front. Eventually, the only people left in line were the guests going to the meet-up. 😂 Glad we stayed. It’s definitely one of my faves now!
This event really spoiled us! It was a little disappointing the next time we went to Universal doing the day. Great tips, I think we're going to try to go back in Dec. Definitly would do this for HHN! Make it happen Vincent 😁😁
I became a pass holder in November and I went to the Informer Meetup also. My experience was similar to a regular day but with more food. I did enjoy myself overall but the only thing I didn’t like was the lines around Hogsmeade and Diagon ally. This event is only good for people that goes once or twice a year or Universal junkies.
Awesome and informative as usual. Price is only slightly higher than the Group VIP tour which I usually do. Curious what are the differences between the Informer Meetup vs the VIP tour? Considering all the food available I'm glad they downsized the portions a bit. You didn't mentioned them, but were the Horror Make-Up and Bourne Stuntacular shows going on during the meetup?
well they kind of were. You can go into the parks at 5pm for the meetup even though the park didn't close to regular guests until 9:00 on Saturday ( 8 on Friday). there were at least 2 and maybe 3 showings of both shows after 5 on Saturday (I didn't check Friday) with the last one being around 7 or 7:30. Animal actors was done for the day though
@@jagmaida5074 Thanks, kind of makes sense that Animal actors was closed, can't image how pumped they would be to perform late into the night after performing all day. I also was wondering how the staff were paid, e..g were most of them staying late for overtime or wonder if they have a different crew coming in for the afterhours. Either way it looks interesting :)
The Meetup and the VIP tour are both premium products, but with some differences. The first one is the the time you prefer to be in the parks, not everyone wants to be out till 1:30am 😂 but the Informer event allows you to explore the parks and jump on rides at your own pace and interest, which is something that doesn't happen on a group VIP tour. You probably will ride Hagrid, but its up to the tour guide's discretion as to when you make it over there. And with a tour you are getting a truly no wait experience for rides as you're going up the exits, but during the OI meetup you'll only ever really be waiting for Hagrid's and maybe VC depending on timing. I'd consider food quality to be elevated on a tour but there's so much to pick from during the meetup, it's very nice to have options. Bourne and Horror Make-Up weren't happening but you're allowed into the park early so you can catch a show during the normal park hours. It's worth doing if you've done the parks before and want to experience it in a different way Micah!
You can only get in at 5pm btw :) 3pm is when you can pick up your tickets
🫣 someone needs to be better at reading the emails
Just booked this year. Thank you for the information!

LOL! In a way, I guess I am!
I really like the combo format. There are benefits for Vincent and us when some thoughts are recorded on the next day.

I’m going in June & staying at a universal resort… do let they you leave the parks and come back?
Yes!
