I think the reissue looks more like the dream sequence from the beginning of the film, whereas the first release more closely resembles the hallucinations Tommy has throughout the film. I’m not sure I’ll buy the reissue, but it does look good.
The dark brown grey hand (with the black nails) is an improvement and more screen-accurate. The lighter coloured handle ice-pick looks like a car's gear stick. 🤣 The original release figure (less wet looking) looks better than the reissue, imo.
2:20 what is also Ironic is Corey Feldman only had a Cameo in the fifth movie precisely because he was already filming for the Goonies. Edit: you pointed that out around 3:35
I personally like the original figure rather than the new one, sure there are some debatably better things about the new one but I like a lot of the original.
14:18 I actually like the "excessive" shiny coat. Makes him look soaking wet like he was in the movie. Also makes him look a lot like Jason from part 8. He would make a good base figure for a Jason part 8.
Target has them in my area although Walmart has a little bit that’s where I got my Toony terrors Jason but if you’re looking for a bigger selection I recommend target and I heard Best Buy has neca figures as well

Dream Jason was only wet for just one scene, the rest he was dry. So both releases are good. 😎
