Am glad to listen to this today 18th July 2015 while in Notre Dame University, Mendoza College of business. Mary, our mother of the Lake is a great inspiration. My regards for the organizers of the Catholic Leadership program and all the facilitators for the great presentations.
Perhaps he should have qualified his statement: "As the mother of God, Mary is perhaps the most important human person ever who doesn't also have a fully divine nature like her son Jesus".
"One can make the point that she's perhaps the most important human person ever." 4:29. But Jesus was a human person: entirely human and entirely divine. And so- Cardinal Dolan either denies that Jesus was a human person (monophysite maybe?) or he things Mary is greater than Jesus (idolatry). Someone should study up on early heresy and basic theology, I think.
Now THAT is a commencement speech,
Thank you Cardinal Dolan excellent speech and may all graduates remember.
Thank you Cardinal Dolan

I think he meant human who was solely human, but yes it could have been worded better.
