Amore Azione it’s good to keep your opponent at the end of your range kicks have more reach and the long guard is good to keep them right there or engage in clinch or perhaps after a 1-2 combo you stick arm out as a fake punch and pull them into a kick but like everything it has it’s flaws
this rule is for punches....one elbow on the forehead 1. you cut the forehead 2. puts him in a coma ... obvious if you have not hardened the bones as a workout can happen (maybe)
Yes but in case of multiple attackers it can be a big issue; elbows are still better the punches, put if you ko one attacker an break your elbow, than the second could beat you. Obviuosly it's a very uncommon issue, then you are right in the 97% of cases
in the case of many attackers you have to evaluate many things. 1. whether you are alone or with your family (girlfriend) 2. if you are alone you can also escape (if there are no witnesses you can die) 3. If you are with the family. put in your pocket the good martial artist and hit the knees, throats, balls, eye etc ... beast mode ...
One criticism. Unless both figures are of equal height and reach, the long guard isn't entirely protecting the left side of the head. An attacker's right hand punch can still easily connect with the face.
this is good..but for me..im not going to twist around and look to the attacker...once he grab my bag from behind..i will do back kick..anddd runnnnnnn awayyyy...
The traditional Muay Thai stance/guard with the hands high, the forearms/palms facing away, and the elbows slightly out will usually work in a street fight. Unless your opponent has trained boxing you can catch their forearm during their hook/overhand with your forearm. This technique was very popular in Thailand until Western boxing techniques became more prevalent. This block is a gamble because it will not work well against someone who is trained and who has heavy hands. Another option is to use a Western boxing hook block (similar to the Muay Thai head kick block except without the opposite hand coming across as well). This has a trade-off because you will be less likely to be surprised by a power puncher, but you will be absorbing every strike and thus still take some damage.
You can watch Petr Yan vs Cory Sandhagen. Short doesn't mean shit. Just look at Petr Yan or Henry Cejudo these two are very short or even Demetrious Johnson
Hahah in real life I don't think a muay-thay fighter wold run away from his attacker😂 damn look at what happened to the guy that broke into UFC lightheavywaight contender Anthony Smith home😂
It's smarter to run away if you're on the street. You don't know if there's others coming. And the assailant or their partners could be armored. No matter how skilled a martial artist you are and even if the assailants are unskilled, taking more than one person at a time will be a pain in the ass, and it's better to deal with what you have at hand and bolt And considering the instructors are Muay Thai legenda Nong O and Yoddecha, and they themselves suggest running, im inclined to take their advice
In the demo his shoulder isn't tucked as high as it normally is in long guard. The extended arm almost always catches a big overhand right before the fist makes contact anyways

If i was attacking someone for no reason like that guy i wouldve just cliped in in the chin or hammer fist behind the head. Not pull his bag for him to turn around to counter me.im just saying
Wing Chun works better. Block in a similar fashion but rotate your wrist outwards and then grab and pull down on the guys arm. It’ll jerk him towards you because of the momentum of the punch and then you just punch them in the chin as it’s coming towards you
Realistic. To the point.
And that from you. Does Muay Thai now work in the streets?
@@yeetyee7066, running is always working after you can defense yourself at first, believe me I'm Thai btw
M.M.A ftw
Mexican martial arts is the best. Hands down
securing the bystander would've been better..
Imagine you're a thief and the person you decide to go after in the back alleys happen to be none other than Nong O LMAO
Roundhouse to the ribs
I felt fractures in the rib cage, nose, bulging eyes and birds flying over my head 😂😂😂💪👊
Only thing that comes to mind is when spider man gets robbed in his alter ego and is all happy and taking a selfie
The long guard is one of the most effective Muay That techniques I've learned. Especially me because my specialty are kicks
how does the long guard help with kicks?

I'm a kicker/clincher and long-guard is my go-to.
Love Evolve MMA material...I would surely be grateful for more videos on street application of MT. thank you so much guys
I love how he runs after! ❤😹
Damn good stuff! Got to love Muay Thai!
U attack someone on singapore street, then discover he is Nong O, how lucky u r 🙄
This guy is not gonna run away like he did in the video if there is only one attacker lol
If the assailor is Yoddecha, using Muay Thai coul be a problem, a BIG problem!
Elbow in the face is very effective 😀🦄🐒😎😉👌
But if you hit the forehead you can break it!

@@AnimeBoyVFX isn't the elbow, when properly locked, the hardest bone in your body?
Ótimo.
Poderiam fazer mais vídeos de Muay Thai street.
Thx Nong O
There are muay boran and muay lert rit for street fighting situations but muay thai work very well in street too
I would subscribe to a official RUclips channel of street muay Thai self defense. ;)

damn... singdam gets KOed in the beginning
THANK YOU!!
Great.
Thanks a lot.
I try to wear the backpack on left shoulder for quick drop release.
Im more of a Dutch Guard kind of guy so I usually clinch and knee really quick.
Thanks Thailand
Yodecha legend
Yeah but when do I use my chi?
İsn't it better to do back fist when someone touches from behind?
Thanks.
Plot twist: The guy was a real thief and Nong actually did defend himself in the recording.
I know this guy ❤❤

Teep to the chest/abdomen should suffice.

nice, street Nong O lol
Elbows in street fight make damage
I feel bad for the robber who tries to mug someone and runs into Nong-O
What if they get u in the headlock or bear hug
Bite and scratch.
@@NShomebase Headlock, throw elbows or take the leg, bearhug, headbutt.

He ran because the attacker is dead
It looks like if you misplace that long guard a fast looping punch can get you. I bet the devil is in the details...
