  • Emas dari Timur is a medley of two popular traditional songs from Papua: E Mambo Simbo and Yamko Rambe Yamko.
E Mambo Simbo represents joy in the village of a community in Papua over a reunion of a father and a son named Mambo who were long lost in the forest, and Yamko Rambe Yamko highlights rich heroic values and indomitable spirit during the time of war. The melodic verses that are repeated throughout the entire song are a symbol of heroism - a beacon of hope - and are truly representative of the nation. CFJ Choir is once again accompanied by the rhythmic beats of percussionists from Griya Asih Orphanage.
    Arrangement: Wilbert Deil
    Performers: CFJ Choir
    Percussionists: Griya Asih
    Conductor: Fransiska Darmawan
CFJ Choir is a community choir under the umbrella of Catholic Fellowship Jakarta. Our singers come from diverse backgrounds and are committed to serve in Sunday Mass as well as participate in various charity concerts. As one of CFJ's earliest ministries, our choir has grown in numbers and talent over the past 10 years. With our motto "Sing with Joy", CFJ Choir strives to spread the joy of our Catholic faith through music and fellowship.
Carry the Light is CFJ's 10th Anniversary Benefit Concert that represents various initiatives driven by CFJ for the past 10 years. The repertoire for this concert was thoughtfully selected as a tribute to the beauty of Indonesia's cultural diversity from the island of Sumatra to Papua. The concert also incorporated various popular songs from Broadway musicals, movie soundtracks, and contemporary choral pieces, all carrying a message of love and unity. We partnered with Rumah Hati Suci and Griya Asih Orphanages in efforts to provide a platform for underprivileged kids living in shelters and orphanages to showcase their talents in percussion, singing, and dancing. The beneficiaries of our concerts are all education-related as we strive to raise awareness of the importance of inclusive access to education.
